We came here the evening before Memorial Day. I think we were the only gringos in the place but we most definitely were the only gringos from The Netherlands 😬, so expectations were high. Karaoke was on and the place was packed. It was gezellig...(sorry there is no word for this in any language). The food was great and so were the beers and the staff.More

Let me first start by explaining why I gave it a three. I think the owner or manager that greeted us at the door was very nice and curdious. Our waitress could have cared less we were there. She took forever getting us water and...couldn't even crack a smile the entire time we were there. Absolutely terrible way to treat anyone. She couldn't even thank you for for coming. She just took our money and walked off. Now for the good stuff. The mariachi band was great. I cant speak a lick of Spanish but it was a pleasant band to listen too. The food was great. Never had I ever had such great Mexican tacos. Fresh and delicious. We would not let the poor attitude waitress keep us from coming back. The food alone is worth the stop. A fine astablishmentMore

I stumbled on this place while looking for someplace for dinner. The restaurant was packed and lively. Turns out it was karaoke night and they were singing Mexican songs. The people were very friendly and entertaining. The food was authentic and very good. Service was...fantastic.More

We were happy to find this right across the street from our hotel after driving all day. Helps if you speak Spanish.

I wouldn't typically start a review this way but I did so on purpose. Follow me here..... Decided to try this place as it's practically next door to my hotel. As a constant traveler you can bet I've eaten a lot of bad Mexican food...on the road, especially out of the South. Like I said, on a whim, we decided to try it. When we walked in the door I was quick to realize that I was the only white boy in the room! My immediate thought was "Yummy! This is going to be great!" If the room is full of Hispanics you know you've hit the jackpot! The food was amazing. Service was a tad slow but the place was packed. The food was worth the wait! The portions were huge and we left with enough food for a late dinner in our room later. I wish we were going to be here another day as I'd love to eat here again tomorrow.More

The family didn't want a tourist trap food area, and we found this place. Really great Mexican, authentic sauces, awesome guac, and good prices. The only negative was that our waitress was a bit inattentive when drinks needed to be filled, and more chips were...needed on the table. We went when it was not busy.More

We were in the mood for Mexican food and we saw this restaurant down the street from our hotel. We stopped in and although it was really busy, we were seated immediately and waited on within minutes. Food was excellent and the best part was...the live Mariachi band!More

If you want authentic Mexican food and lovely music, this is the place. Not very busy for a Saturday afternoon but very tasty food and the atmosphere is casual, laid back. Great staff too.

Im Mexican and im very picky with food, I cook. I ordered Chilaquiles it was my first time, It took FOREVER Chilaquiles where overpriced. Chilaquiles are mainly fried tortilla chips with Melted mozzarella style cheese and some sour cream. either green or red sauce, and...friend beans usually The ones I got the Green Sauce was terrible not natural, the texture of sauce was like canned, the cheese wasn't gratinated when they served them. I wouldn't come back to this place and the food wasn't worth the price.More

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Greater DC area. Every 2 weeks or so we drive nearly 2 hours to eat here. On our last visit the temperature was a sweltering 101 degrees. We rushed from the car through their parking lot expecting...the cool A/C inside the restaurant - only to discover their A/C was totally out of service! In fact it felt TWICE as hot inside without A/C - like walking into an oven! My wife and I exchanged a quick glance, and instantly decided to get a table and endure the - what felt like 130-degree heat. I once worked in the desert of Saudi Arabia in 135 degree heat, but can honestly say this was the hottest eating experience of my entire life. My wife experienced a new phenomenon - large beads of sweat forming on her delicate face. But neither of us had any intention of leaving - which is a testimony to just how good the food is. Need I say more?More

I love how empty buildings along Richmond Highway in Alexandria have been turned into colorful restaurants, in large part by Latinos, that offer good food at good prices with friendly staff. This place is no exception, but the food is, I have to warn you,...very very heavy, and even 17 hours later, my tummy continues to protest. Other than that, the staff is attentive, the prices reasonable, the owner is on the premises and seems genuinely concerned that customers are happy.More

We looked and looked and looked some more for a good Mexican restaurant in this area... We walked in and out of 3 others before finding this one, and it was worth it. Our food was excellent; our margaritas were very good. The service was...very good. It's definitely nothing fancy to look at, but it's very good, authentic food!More

Loved their gorditas. Was not very busy. Don't understand why. Much better than Taco Bell. Margaritas were a bit pricey.
