I love the bacon sandwiches, and just hanging outside on a summer day in Alexandria. The prices are right, and the service is both fast and friendly. I am sure you will enjoy you visit to Caboose. The also have great breakfasts and Ethiopian food,

Unassuming eatery in the Del Rey neighborhood, but don't let that stop you from going there! We had lunch there and would go back very often if we were closer. They offer everything from vegan Ethiopian food to meat & cheese sandwiches, baked goods and wonderful Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. If you sit outside you can bring your pooch with you,... More

Dropped by for lunch on Monday. They have a full Ethiopean menu for dinner, but do have three entrees at lunch in addition to a variety of panini and cold sandwiches. We ordered the Beef Alitcha and the Chicken Infillay. There's also a Vegan sampler that we didn't try. Both stews came with two rolls of Injera. Quite tasty and... More

I went here once for breakfast and was really surprised to see that they also have Ethiopean food. And it is good! Had an impressive selection of different meat and veggie options and all were great. Breakfast options are pretty standard diner fare and were also good. The menu features quite a few Italian dishes as well.

On the north end of Del Ray, Caboose is a neighborhood café with a loyal cadre of customers. I had eaten dinner there in the past, but discovered their breakfast menu one Saturday morning in the fall when everything else along the Avenue was booked and have made it a regular stop. They serve a very good breakfast, built around... More

Went in here a couple times to do work on my computer. I was in during the afternoon so didn't have a full meal, but menu items seemed interesting. The main thing I noticed here was the service. I'm not sure if it was the owner or manager, but he was so outgoing and pleasant and helpful with everyone. Other... More

Service was pleasant and coffee was quick. Omelet is made fresh so a little wait is fine by me. They have some bakery samples and the cranberry and gingersnap muffins were really good. I really liked the fall centerpieces which were based with stale rolls and pretty cute. The latte I had was a little too watery for my taste... More

The only experience I have had with this restaurant is with the coffee. I have no opinion about the food. Today, a friend and I had lunch and dessert at other restaurants. The cappuccino was mediocre at best. This restaurant is small and average in appearance.

Caboose is an Ethiopian restaurant. They offer breakfast lunch & dinner but they do close fairly early so check their hours. They have an assortment of foods including Ethiopian, mostly at night but their sandwiches, soups & salads are great. The staff & owner are always really helpful & accomodating. We can eat Gluten free here easily although I must... More

My wife and I visited Caboose Cafe in Alexandria's Del Ray neighborhood out of curiosity on a weekday night. The setting is very casual, and they had a decent wine list as well as a few local beers. Their menu has an odd mix of Italian and Ethiopian cuisine. My wife had the Ethiopian sample dish and I had the... More
