What a great spot! Greeted by Trey who promptly sat us in one of the dining rooms and then hung around to be an incredible server throughout our meal. The Honey Siracha Shrimp Tacos and the Smash burger both deserving a round of applause as much as Trey's performance as server/entertainer.

I knew I was going to have a good experience as soon as I got out the car. We were given a list of local restaurants from our hotel concierge. I reviewed them all. I am so happy that we choose this “quirky” restaurant. I called before we left to inquire if reservations were necessary. The woman that answered the phone had a tone in her voice that was friendly upbeat and so looking forward to seeing us. The wooden ramp took us into the restaurant. It looked so cool. Cute little bar. We were seated and in moments greeted by our sever Elizabeth. She was awesome in every aspect. Professional, timely, friendly and engaging. My husband had the special which was Chicken Parm over Polenta with a Cesar salad . He loved it. I had a Cesar Salad topped with Chicken. Dressing was tasty and just right. A varied selection of items on the menu all reasonably priced. Our water was served in plastic Pepsi glasses which didn’t seem to fit with our experience and the bar did not carry any Canadian Whiskey. No worries the bar tender made me a Manhattan with Makers Mark. It’s good to step out of the box from time to time!

This is a toast of Abingdon and a reason to come back to the city. Abingdon is quaint, special and a great place to be near outdoor activities. Then when you are hungry for healthier craft food, you come here. The service is so genuine, nice and authentic. The food was yummy. The tomato bean soup on a cold day hit the spot. It was fresh with a good mineral/earthy (natural the way it should be) flavor and had quality ingredients. If you are a foodie and like local, come here. The menu is just right in size, but everything sounded so good, I had a hard time deciding. If you like veggies and some spice, the cauliflower app with a curry aioli was perfect. They also dust their fried oysters better than I could ever attempt to try. It made me want to come back for their mushrooms and I only eat fried foods on occasion which brings me to the fries; They were skinny and perfect. We were also happy that you could get a burger medium rare which says a ton about the beef quality. They had a quality bar as well and made a nice pour. The entire staff was a blessing... Thank you!

My boyfriend and I have eaten here for years and have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries with many friends and family. Unfortunately, on June 28th, 2023, ~ 1630 we made a decision to not return to this establishment. I arrived first at the restaurant ( I guess I never had paid attention to the ALL MEMEBERS of the party had to be visible sign). I told the young boy there would be 2 total. I stood there for a couple of minutes (again not paying attention to the little sign) I asked what the holdup was and he explained the policy. I had worked 12 hours this today and I was so looking forward to sitting down with and ice tea and an appetizer. Thank GOD the young GENTELEMAN offered me a seat at the bar and actually took an order for my drink. I did not get his name but he was a true gentleman. When we got a tabel (it was not crowed at all) the food was very displeasing. The squid was sitting in the grease, never before had this happened. Usually they place a piece of parsley to make it look good for the pallet. My cuban (which I get 50% of the time was awful. No taste unless I drenched it in the vinegar itself. My boyfriend's meal taste like someone had poured and extra amount of salt on it. So sad that our experience was so bad that we will not return. The bar tender and the waitress was the only positive experience about this.

Our group of 5 had high hopes that we would have an enjoyable meal based on the high ratings other diners have given this establishment. We were very disappointed. The tea had a very “off” taste, the french fries that came with the meals were cold and chewy. For what you pay, the dishes were pretty uninspired and bland (bright spot was the “smashed burger” and turkey sandwich which had plenty of turkey) Apps were good, not sure why there was inconsistency between the apps and the meals (which took 45 minutes to get). I expect more when paying $50 for lunch for 2 (app, 2 teas and entree)

My husband and I arrived in Abington from NC for a short trip to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. After checking into our hotel and reviewing the restaurant choices we chose Jacks 128 Pecan for dinner. The menu looked amazing and the reviews were outstanding.
Needless to say we made the right choice. We were seated quickly and our drink order was taken. The decor was quaint and comfortable.
Our server Trey was amazing and so friendly and attentive!! We chose the fried calamari appetizer and fish tacos with a side salad. Since we were traveling and didn’t want leftovers we shared the tacos. They were huge and absolutely delicious as was the calamari with sweet chili dipping sauce. Kudos to the chef and kitchen crew !We surely didn’t leave hungry. Trey was back and forth checking on us to fill our water or see if we needed anything. He has our vote for server of the day! We will definitely come back again if we are in the area. We highly recommend it.

Food and drinks were very good. Hubby and I shared the hushpuppies appetizer and loved them! Then we split two entrees - the fish tacos and the chicken tacos. Both were executed to perfection. I also had the black raspberry margarita and it was delicious. The only drawback: the restaurant is very small. Parking is tight, and there is virtually no space to wait. People crowding around the bar make it nearly impossible to even get inside to put your name on the waiting list. They don’t text when your table is ready so you have to stay very close in a very crowded space, which neither of us is a fan of. However, once seated, it was a wonderful experience! Will definitely return!

We arrived in Abingdon after 8pm, but Pecan was happy to accommodate us. We had a nice little table for 2 in a back room with a few other tables. It felt intimate and almost romantic. The food was a cut above. We were hungry, but the two chicken breasts on my smoked chicken salad were too much. You will not leave hungry! And the food was interesting. The staff seemed to be enjoying themselves and we felt very taken care of. I would come here again.

In the area on business travel and scoping the area for a visit with family later in the fall. 128 Pecan was at the trailhead for the Virginia Creeper trail so stopped in for lunch. There was a crowd there, even though I arrived a bit after the normal lunch hour. Lots of good options to choose from. I had the fish tacos and a side of soup. Tacos were ok, soup was very nice. I will be anxious to come try this place again

All the boxes were checked: Food. Hospitality. Atmosphere.
We dropped in for lunch during a road trip. Not being able to decide between the Chili Salmon Tacos and the Daily Special of Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken Sandwich, we ordered one of each to share.
Bliss. The Tacos were perfectly portioned to allow for a delicious flavor palate in every bite. The Fried Chicken? Juicy, crispy, and otherwise perfect.
The host? proprietor? periodically chatted with us, making us feel welcomed in this charming restaurant. Our only regret is that we had no appetite for dessert.

Let's start by giving a big shout out for the big personality of our waiter, Trey B; he was delightful. Interesting and humorous quips, attentive, and efficient. The food we had was excellent. The only place we've been where the Fish Tacos actually include whole fish fillets. And, the Tomato Bisque was smooth, creamy, and extra flavorful. Plenty of seating available when we arrived a little after 4pm on a Saturday, was filling up by the time we left.

128 Pecan has excellent food, and we especially loved the seafood. It has a creative and varied menu and the servers are very attentive to your every need. We liked it so much that we had lunch one day and came back two more times for dinner.

Two visits in the same week!
Visit #1: Good smash burger, but shoestring fries were over cooked, and salty.
Server seemed disinterested!
Visit #2: NOT a "Cuban sandwich"!!! Wrong bread and cheap cold cuts and cheese, but tasty. Just call it a grilled sandwich with meat and cheese!
Hubby enjoyed the black bean soup which was hot, and flavorful.
Server was friendly, and attentive: brought another napkin when she noticed my fingers were getting greasy from the sandwich.

After a long day of travel, we checked into our hotel and headed straight for 128 Pecan, based on TA reviews. We were welcomed in by our friendly server and everyone in our group enjoyed their food (Salmon Caesar Salad, Shrimp Po Boy, Burger, Blueberry Cobbler, Pecan Pie, Chocolate mousse cake). Everything was "lick your plate clean" good! Our interaction with our server made us feel right at home and I could tell this was a favorite for the Locals as well. We'll be back when travelling through again!

Wonderful friendly spot! Thanks Trey!
Had an early lunch so it wasn't too crowded.
Special was the Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos which tasted great. Perfect fresh salad which I had with both blue cheese and 1000 island dressings. All homemade.
Jack Burger was large and filling along with hand cut fries.
Will stop by again when in Abingdon VA.
