I have ate good BBQ but none compares , no where have I ate BBQ ribs as good as they have. I SO looked forward to going there this summer but they are closed. The Washington county, Abingdon codes and regulations forced them to close. The owners did a excellent job and a lot of hard work to restore the... More

Well worth you drive out into the country however only a 10-15 drive from I- 85.Rustic design beside of the creek with plenty of seating inside and out. The ribs are outstanding and smoked on the premises. This old mill location is a very popular establishment and well worth your time to search it out on Google Maps. You will... More

On Oct. 11 2015 met here to have lunch (she lives in one state I in another). we picked here because it was in the middle. The ribs were awesome...some of the best I have ever had!!! The potato salad and coleslaw was good but the slaw could have used a little more mayo. And the price was very reasonable. For... More

I don’t know what the experience would be like when it is cold, but when the weather is nice, the outdoor dining is memorable. It is a walk up and place your order restaurant. The barbeque quality is among the best I have frequented. They offered barbequed turkey and drums as more standard barbeque. I had the standard – pulled... More

The five-mile drive off the interstate to this park-like setting was unquestionably a great side trip from the downtown-oriented Highland Festival. The buns (one small and one large) were packed with large chunks of lean, succulent barbecue. This is one of the top 5 barbecue meals I've ever had. The authentic mill pond, flumes and working water wheel were a... More

When we asked about BBQ in Abingdon, we were told about Parks Mill - BUT - you must eat at the original location and not the one in town. So we traveled down VA 58 toward Damascus and located the restaurant a few miles down a side road - right next to the river. The old mill is still there... More

Parks Mill cooks and serves wood smoked turkey, pork bbq, and baby back ribs with a variety of homemade sides like Cole slaw, bbq beans and potato salad. Also desserts like or made fresh each day banana pudding and brownies along with ice cream and milkshakes. Also have hamburgers, hotdogs, turkey legs and sell bbq by the pound and whole roast. Working water grist meal we grind our own grits and cornmeal that are for sale in the store. Peaceful place along Parks Creek away from town and the crowds. Outside seating available.
