Steak cut like butter, exactly medium rare (as ordered), even the fat was not grizzled. The baked potato was perfectly cooked, and the bread and butter was excellent.

A friend had been telling me that the filet Mignon was the best anywhere. I had my doubts but when I got my own, I was convinced. The flavor was out of this world and cooked perfectly. There are lots of yummy sides choices and...desserts for anyone who has room. I didn't! We also had an excellent server- Lois. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us often. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants the best steak in Texas, perhaps in America. But just a warning. Word has gotten out and it gets crowded. In the evening expect a wait. It's worth it.More

I must say that the flavor of their steaks are top-notch (much better than Texas Road House). Only problem I had was a Ribeye with about 40% gristle which is nasty to me. The Cowboy Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli was excellent. Service - poor! My...waitress saw me 1 time and that was to take my order. The drink server came around a few times. The Hostess asked how my food was and when I told her she said she was sorry but no action was taken until I asked for the Manager. The Mgr gave all kinds of excuses and blamed it on me for not saying something but I did to the Hostess and since my waitress didnt show up I couldnt say anything to her. Manager took about half off my bill which was ok by me. I will try this place again but NOT order a Ribeye.More

We arrived with a group of 12 and we were very well accommodated. Our waitress was new and there were a few problems with our bills but the food was so delicious. Their signiture meal is fajitas and they make a their own tortillas on...site. Well worth it for us.More

Great as usual. My wife and I had been wanting to take some really special people in our lives to 5D for a long time. Our schedules finally lined up and we got to go. They have a 3 year old and a 4 month...old. We made reservations and when we got there our table was next to the bar. I wasn't sure that that would be ok, but didn't say anything. It turned out ok. Our friends said they were really pleased with the food. We go there for all of our special occasions and we have never been disappointed. I will ask not to be seated next to the bar the next time I have children or a Pastor with in. Just my preference. Fantastic food and great service.More

Have heard rave comments and read comments on how good this place is. This was our first visit to Five D Cattle Company, so not wanting to take a chance at waiting a long time, we made reservations about fours days in advance. It was...a good thing we did, as the town was hosting a wine festival (of all things) and the three block downtown was covered in vehicles and people milling about. We were about 30 minutes early for our reservation but the hostess told us they liked early far better than late. She started checking if we could go ahead and obtain a table and we were seated inside of five minutes of arriving. Felt a bit guilty going ahead of so many people waiting BUT they didn't have reservations (as we were told...don't worry about it). We were promptly greeted by a waitress, who took our drink order. Later we had another waitress who served us the rest of our needs (they appear to help each other out during busy times). The rib-eyes we ordered were prepared to our expectations and frankly were above our expectations. The sides we ordered were good (cowboy potatoes were certainly different though...favorable and unusual). The bread loaves were to die for. We read that the salads weren't great, but neither of our salads were bad...in fact they were delicious. They do not put the dressing on, so you control the portion. We were prepared to order dessert (as what we saw being brought to other tables were HUGH by comparison to other eateries). However, we were so full by the end of our meals that we passed on those. Hence, we now have a mission to return for those as well as trying out some of the other menu items they have. I never expected something like Five D Cattle in such a small town. It is an hour drive from our home and really not the greatest roads but it turns out that it was worth every penny! (This is not a Texas Roadhouse, so do not expect the pricing to be low even though it is in a small town.) Finally, do not be mislead by some of the negative reviews as every place can have an off night. Give it a try if you haven't and if you have...go back...maybe well see ya' there!More

We love the place. It is homely by that I mean, very relax atmosphere, very casual. The service is great and the food awsome. The desserts are great also.

Really great food and service. Steak was cooked to perfection. Must have reservations or very long wait. Has full bar and western decor.

The steaks here are second to none! Our entire group enjoyed their food. I only give it 4 stars because they still serve that silly little wedge of sour cream and their wine list needs some help.

When you call ask. Depends on the level of traffic. Otherwise it is good to call ahead and get there early. You will still wind up sitting in front of the restaurant but that is O.K. Very fast pace and worth any... More
