Seated promptly on arrival at reservation time which I always appreciate . The Nola BBQ shrimp was divine. Short rib w watermelon radish and grits yes, festive cocktails and save room for the strawberry shortcake served w creme and a salty flaky scone..yum. Patio, front...yard picnic tables or sofas or sultry interior -all great spots to sit for apps and sips or a full meal. Walkable Clarksville, a bit of parking in back. Impeccable perfect service …truly and that’s not as common as it should be…kept it moving without feeling like they wanted the table. Really enjoyed our evening .thank you .will be back. Wish it hadn’t taken us so long to come. WonderfulMore

Food was super average. Very spotty and slow but friendly service. There was a DJ pumping out music during dinner which was very weird. Do not recommend this place.

I've been here a few times in the last 3 years and while the food and drinks have always been overpriced and mediocre, this last visit has put me over the edge to never return. My partner and I arrived and were seated within a...couple minutes, but then quickly forgotten about. It took ~20 minutes for a waitperson to come for our drink order and another ~15 minutes to receive said drinks. We ordered a charcutterie board, which arrived another ~10 minutes later and was the most laughable $28 I've ever spent on fingergood, since there was no cutlery nor dishware provided. The waitstaff finally came back another ~15 minutes later and offered cutlery & plates, at which point we had all but finished the food and were ready to leave. The extensive waittimes seemed unnecessary as the patrons around us who arrived later than we received their food and drink items before our table. There are far better Old Fashioneds and Charcutterie boards around Austin for equal or lesser cost and significantly friendlier ambiance with more attentive staff.More

Note this review was based on a visit we made on Mother's day which I agree is probably hard to staff and to judge when it will be busy. We made a reservation for 4 around 3pm. We were seated right away and really enjoyed...the location and vibe. We sat outside and there was also live music which was a plus. At 3pm, the menu was still brunch which we didn't expect but were happy to roll with it. The menu was very limited to start. One guest ordered chicken/biscuit - but was told they were out. Another guest then ordered the lemon pancakes (also out). 3/4 of our choices were out on an already limited menu. Drinks came right on time. Our meals unfortunately came out almost an hour later. One meal we had an issue with and once we let our waitress know she took care of it which we appreciated. Overall a good vibe and based on what we saw I think it would be a great place for a 'night cap' but not so much for a dining destination.More

Until they added this large plastic wall all around the entire exterior. No breeze, different feel, huge letdown. Was my second time - staff was great, music too, the only reason I'm writing this review is I hope they remove the plastic wall outside (that...rises up to about 7 feet.). I'm an interior designer - this would not be something I can imagine any designer recommending for multi-purposes.More

We are so grateful for Nightcap’s amazing staff and private room rental, who made a party for eleven guests over four households happen safely AND made it a blast!! Our family is being so, so careful with Covid restrictions, but we didn’t want to miss...celebrating our niece’s 21st birthday. They gave us a easy, fabulous night to remember and a yummy menu of drinks and food while respecting our Covid concerns and various food restrictions. They took our Pinterest dream-board for a Vintage-Vegas Casino Night and ran with it, arranging and installing all decorations and hiring casino tables and a dealer. My sister and I are meticulous party planners who usually do all our own work, so it was an awesome change to walk in relaxed and just be amazed along with the birthday girl! The setting is lovely and they have a great sense of style that elevated the event without it feeling even a little bit stuffy. The menu gave everyone delicious choices to make them happy: courses of creatively-presented roasted veggies and dips for our vegans (and everyone else, yum); upscale mocktails for the non-drinkers (even the drinkers loved them!) and lucky omnivores had Alaskan crab legs, crispy quail, and gooey carnitas grilled-cheese sandwiches, among other delights. Our rooms were private and separated from the rest of the restaurant, with their own entrance, and staff was respectful about timing, mask-wearing, giving instructions when needed, keeping our party private, and keeping an eye out for any needs. Thanks, Nightcap, for helping us have a fun night NOT worrying about the pandemic because you made the party plan keeping it in mind!More

Granted, it was a very busy Valentines night. Further, all waitstaff in Austin are well under 30 years of age, and we are not. The food was creative and delicious, and the ambiance was really cool. Like most establishments on W. 6th St. in Austin,...it is in a converted older house. The only blemish, and it was severe, is how awful the service was. Whether that is the standard or not is hard to tell, but it was an impressive effort at service prevention.More

My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner on a Tuesday night. We were treated by complimentary bubbles in nicely designed glasses at the table. Awesome start! The wait staff is stellar with great service and smiles. The kimchi fries are my new addiction....The hamachi was good. The burgers were juicy and the side potato balls are to die for. Nice happy hour on Tuesdays. We plan to make this part of the regular routine. Brisk 8 minutes walk from Whole Foods on 6th to a former former residential home. Love the light Art Deco/steam pump light fixtures and banquets in the dining room on the left upon entry. Thank you for your chef’s menu and hospitality. Terrific experience.More

Met a girlfriend here for dinner. Free valet parking is a huge plus in this part of town. We sat outside and it was pleasant. They have heaters that work well. Seems they maybe a tad understaffed but what place isn't in Austin. We started...with the crispy Brussels sprouts. My friend got the burger and I got the risotto. The menu is limited which I am ok with for a place like this. However, if you have a limited menu the food should be really good. I thought it was fine but nothing that blew me away. I did like the vibe but wish the food was better. I will come back with my husband and give it another shot as every place deserves two chances.More

This restaurant has great ambiance. It’s just on the outskirts of downtown and I see that as a plus. The food is phenomenal. The chicken and burger were unbelievable. They let us try what appeared to be fried hash browns but they were fried mashed...potato balls - WOW! The service was so good I can’t wait to go back. Food - great, drinks — awesome and the service was 5-Star. I would recommend Nightcap to those who are looking for great date night destination. Kudos to the manager and staff who made the evening awesome. Nightcap will be in my Austin restaurant rotation.More

Nightcap is an oasis of tasty food and calm, a mile away away from the noise and drunken crowds of downtown during SXSW, but an easy walk from the convention center. The presentations are quite lovely, the dishes were creative and cooked perfectly, and the...service was great. Highly recommended.More

This place has jumped on the plate sharing trend. The portions are small but priced as full entrees even the items listed under "mains". I wouldn't want to pass on this place based on their current rating because the ambiance is nice, service is great...and food is good.More

Found this strictly by researching reviews, and walked over from our AirBnB. What an awesome contemporary minimalist vibe, elegant decor, mellow but friendly efficient service, and outstanding locally sourced menu. Great bar too. Anniversary/special event quality dining!
