The salad I had was like a mixture of things, not appetizing. The hot bread on the other hand was delicious. One expects the main food to be appetizing and not just teh bread.

Good Italian food with an interesting set up. The staff is very friendly and they have a great dessert selection including fresh made gellato. They tend to run out of things at times which is a bit of a disappointment when you have your heart set of something. But otherwise, a good choice.

My wife and I have dined at Mandola's many times but I have never actually reviewed it...I think. Anyway, if you're looking for consistently good Italian fare at reasonable prices then give Mandola's a try. We especially enjoy the garlic fries, cruda salad, and minestrone soup. The pizzas and dessert bar are also very good. My one disappointment while on... More

Our actual conversation after realizing that the pizza lunch special was considerably larger than those served at the other locations: Me: "The additional two inches of diameter actually creates a much larger amount of pizza because π r²..." Mrs. K.: " No honey, pie are round." My wife always gets the pizza lunch special. It comes with either soup or... More

Two of us from out of town and one from Austin after a long day at work went for a nice dinner out. Cute grocery department that your wander through to place your order. As we decided on what wine we wanted with dinner were offered nice size samples. I choice the frozen sangria. Perfect for a hot summer night.... More

There are not many good Italian restaurants in Austin. This, however, is a good casual one. Good pasta, good pizza, good sandwiches. Fries with garlic/parmesan are terrific. Gelato is tasty. Cookies and desserts are delicious. Coffee, very good!

First time at this restaurant. The location is in a quaint area with lots of shops and restaurants -- and the restaurant itself is also very quaint and authentic. The food is reasonably priced and we liked that they had an array of gelato to choose from for dessert. Service was also quick. My wife had eggplant parm and loved... More

The atmosphere of Mandolas was really cool. It felt like an Italian restaurant with an open kitchen. Walk-in, grab a bottle of wine order your food at the register and find a seat to wait on some good food. Meatballs were fantastic, wine was pretty good too.
