In the late '80s through 2000 Upper Crust was the go-to bakery for me and all of my friends. We had their croissants and coffee almost daily and often lunch consisting of sandwiches or soup. Every bridal shower or birthday any of us had included a Gateau Marisa cake, a cake you'll dream about! Upper Crust was on top of... More

What an expensive disappointment It's a far cry from Best Buns in Metro DC ... But it's also closer... The whatever this is was described as a STICKY BUN... Not sticky just a big piece of Dough, the coffee is sour tasting...,and the bottom of the cup was filled with grounds...

In my years living in Austin I did my best to try all the bakeries around. This one was by far my favorite. I often got cookies, cinnamon rolls, lentil soup, and fresh sandwiches here. I also love that they don't have wifi so you're not surrounded by people acmping out on laptops- or at least if someone *is* working,... More

BEST chocolate cake - my husband's favorite. My only negative was the service when I picked up the cake - not overly welcoming - and the folks in line behind me were just rude.

I am local to Austin and the Upper Crust is a favorite place for pastries. My very favorite is the cinnamon roll, I have had several of the other pastries but the cinnamon roll is a must for any visit I make.

This place not only has great desserts, but great home made sandwiches. Good selection of drink items, too. This is a regular Sunday brunch kinda place for me. Store front windows - great views, lots of sunshine!

Charming. True to Austin as is was before. Beautiful pastries, breads, and aromas. Wonderful place to spend a weekend morning. Fresh soups and sandwiches. Very relaxed. This is an Austin experience not to be missed. Bring your newspaper or latest read. Employees obviously love it. You will, too. I recommend the cinnamon rolls. Eat them with your fingers, unrolling the... More

Went to Upper Crust Bakery on advice from my wife while visiting Austin. The line for pastries was out the door but moved at a steady pace. The cinnamon rolls were awesome! Not too sweet or sticky but just plain tasty.

I have yet to find anything here that I didn't like. Everything is so fresh and you can taste it. The Italian stew and Cheese soup are both amazing. And I've gotten use to the 1/2-sandwich lunch that comes with soup, chips and a great salsa, as well as a cookie. My go to in the morning is there lemon... More

The Upper Crust is a very popular place on Burnet. We went in when there was a lull and were able to get a good look of their large variety of breads and pastries. We settle on some of their large flaky croissants that are moist and buttery but still with a breadlike quality to them. They are a popular... More
