We visited twice during our 4 days in Austin because food and service so good. Great value and super attentive service. We enjoyed vegetarian enchiladas they weren't even advertised on menu but the lovely smiley helpful japanese waitress recommended them as we are veggies. The atmosphere is so relaxed and all the staff happy and helpful. Highly recommend!

Excellent food and very good service.
The wagyu steak is very delicious, as are the beef ribs, the salmon is excellent, the tuna toast is also delicious, the only thing we don't recommend is the fish ceviche.
The service is good.
We just didn't like that they charged us 20% for service and they wanted more gratification.
In general highly recommended.
Note:
I don't know English and the reception staff (I think the restaurant manager) was very attentive and spoke to us in Spanish and asked us for a waitress who knew Spanish and that made our dinner easier for us.
Thank you all.

We had lunch here one day, and drinks at the bar one afternoon. The bartender was very helpful, allowing us to sample some of the many draft beers and helping us make our selections.
The day we had lunch, our server was friendly and attentive. The appetizers she suggested – the Spicy Guacamole and the Chile Pimento Fritters – were unique, and our entrees were great, especially the Pork Carnitas.
Nice selection of Margaritas, we tried several.
Good value too.

We’re staying in the JW Marriott and went down on a Friday night for a drink and late night snack. We walked in from the hotel entrance and nobody greeted us. We were I guess standing there like tourists. Walked to the host stand by the exterior door and the guy said to seat ourselves so we did. We sat at a table for literally 10 minutes and nobody came to greet us there either or even bring us a menu or water. Nothing. Felt totally unseen. Do not recommend. 0 stars.
Only go here on a Friday night if you want to be ignored by the staff.

We order the “poblano queso” it was horrible, it was the cheese dip that you got at the movies when you were a teenager. We also ordered a burger which at Wendy’s or BK would have been better.
The seven layer salad was fine, I asked for it with the dressing on the side and it came with it anyway.

The 3 host at the front we rude at first glance. Seemed like we interrupted their conversation. We asked to be seated at two empty tables since we couldn’t find anything else available. Our kids were hungry and needed to rest. We had to be okay with 2 servers and wait 20 minutes so they could find someone to clean the tables that had already been cleared since before we walked in. The tables looked all set but now we had to wait for servers to be available. We asked to at least sit and wait there but that wasn’t an option. Once we finally got to sit down the servers had obviously been told we were being difficult since they were both rude. One server brought dinks then never came back around so we could order food. When we told him we never received a drink he told us the other server said she’d bring it. He crumpled up the receipt that he had slammed on our table previously walked away and got a new bill. We left hungry even though we paid over $200 and frustrated with the lack of kindness and communication. Very Disappointing in this nice spot.

Needs major work. Had dinner and drinks here and let's start with the food. The salad came with so much dressing we could not see the salad so the server kindly replaced it with another dish. Grouper was very good. Cornbread undercooked. We then moved to the bar for the next round and for desert we were suggested and ordered the apple cobbler and when it arrived it was a cherry cobbler and the single worst cobbler I have ever tasted in my life. The cherry's taste like they came out of cherry pie can and crumble tasted like crumbled brown sugar and it wasn't even warm, absolutely awful. We ordered a bottle of Malbec from the amazing bartender who ended up allowing the other bartenders to pour our wine to other guests so we were just charged for our two glasses. Odd, I know. Staff here is so nice but the food needs a new chef.

We stopped in for a late lunch after checking into the Marriott. Our server was pleasant and our drinks were good. Off to a good start! The 3 Dips and Chips “starter” came out and was okay but nothing special. Basically what you get at any chain Mexican restaurant at no charge, plus a tablespoon of guacamole and a tablespoon of what appeared to be canned cheese dip . And then the catastrophe of sandwiches arrived. The Crispy Chicken sandwich that was recommended by our waiter was a sad combination of stale hard bun, chicken so overcooked and dry that it was hard to even chew enough to swallow it, and accompanying bits of unripe tomato, avocado, etc that did not improve the experience and actually did nothing other than make the sandwich difficult to eat. I simply gave up. To add insult to injury, the fries that were on the plate were barely warm and very very old. Clearly they had seen a lot of time after the fryer under some warming lamp. Our other sandwich was a Smoked Brisket au jus Dip. The brisket was so fatty as to be nearly inedible (we pulled as much of the fat off as we could), a hard stale roll, and the same nearly room temperature fries. Bad experience that I’ll just chalk up to a learning experience. Don’t eat at hotel restaurants.

We ate here almost a year ago, had great service, food was wonderful, and we couldn’t wait to go back. Since we live in Round Rock, we don’t get downtown very often. We had an opportunity to return this past weekend for our friend’s Birthday and I remarked on the reservation that it was Cathy’s Birthday.
This time, I was a little disappointed and not in a hurry to go back. Our first waitress was Elora and she was wonderful but we heard she no longer worked there. We had Brendan instead and he was not very attentive. It took forever to get drinks, which may not have been Brendan’s fault but I do feel that he could have communicated with us a bit better about the situation. Cathy (BDay girl) ordered a glass of wine but what she ordered was not in stock. She was not informed of this until all of our other drinks came out. She ordered an alternate glass and we were all finished our drinks and ready to order a second and had eaten our appetizer before her glass arrived.
The short ribs were the main reason I wanted to go back. They were delicious the first time, but this time they were dry and disappointing.
Cathy also never received ANY kind of Happy Birthday wish from the staff. Not even just a little comment from anyone.
Overall disappointing. Even though I’m not opposed to going back to Corner, there are a lot of other restaurants in this area and I think we will try those out instead of returning to Corner

We were staying in the JW Marriott attached to this restaurant and had two dinners and two breakfasts while we were staying there. Adam, our waiter, for dinner was funny and attentive. We really liked the service and the food was great. Spicy guacamole and the brisket tacos were also really good. The breakfast service was good food as well, but much slower service than we experienced in the evening.

Excellent hearty meal. Started with homemade guacamole and chips which were fresh and great start while having a cocktail. Dinners were short rib and grits which were tender and creamy as well as the pollo dish which was slightly spicy but flavorful.

The Corner Restaurant, located at the JW Marriott in downtown Austin offers a tasty but pricey Brunch.
We tried two of their featured entrees including the Smoked Salmon Toast ($20). Served on brioche, it included whipped caper cream cheese, cilantro, pickled red onion.
The other dish was the Egg White Omelet ($18) with Feta, baby spinach, avocado, salsa roja, confit tomatoes, mushrooms and toast.
A fantastic Bloody Mary paired perfectly with the meal.
After all was said and done, we paid over $60 including a tip (great service). No complaints but too expensive. Note: Most hotel brunches are overpriced. Note 2: Great spot for people watching, open to the streets on either side, I recommend sitting at the bar to take it all in.

For a hotel lunch this spot isn't that bad. It was a bit loud and the ambience was okay, though we were sitting in the bar area with lots of staff walking towards the kitchen.
The food is of fair quality. Fish was a bit dry and the salad not a lot out-of-the-ordinary in terms of sight and what's in it. So price quality in general barely a pass.
Staff was genuinely welcoming and friendly, so that upgraded the experience.
For a Marriott, you would expect a little better

The restaurant is in the JW Marriot about a block away from the bat bridge. My wife and I shared a huge nachos appetizer and I had a few blood & honey drafts. Nachos were good but there there was too much meat and not enough cheese. First time that I have complained of too much meat! The waiter was very friendly and he had some good suggestion on where to stand to see the bats coming out under the bridge (south side on the grassy knoll). Absolutely great setting and location. I tried to get lodging at the JW Marriot (I am platinum) but they were booked for the 2 days we stayed-ended up at the Residence Inn 4 blocks away.

I was staying at the JW Marriott and decided to go stay close doe to the virus. It was early (about 5pm) so I decided to get a drink or 2 and then decide what to do about dinner. The waiter informed me that if I didn't order food I could not order a drink.
I left and went to another (and much better) restaurant a short walk away and had a a few drinks AND a nice dinner afterward.
I asked the desk manager at the JW Marriott if he was aware of the no eat-no drink rule at Corner, and he was not. He also was not happy about it and said he would definitely investigate the rule.
BTW, the Corner waiter was also very rude. My recommendation is for you to skip this place and walk down 2nd Street about 800 feet to a nice bar and restaurant.
