It ain't what it used to be, but still a must-see for all the out-of-towners. This place has unfortunately become a tourist trap. And many of the shops on the "compound" are rarely open.

Stopped by for the sunset and a margarita. The location overlooking Lake Travis does have amazing views. I think we were told they can seat close to 3,000 in peak times. The margarita was OK and the food basic TexMex. So a 5 for the view and a 3 for the Martgaritas/TexMex.

Went for lunch and the outside seating overlooking Lake Travis is terrific. From here you can see the entire Lake and the beautiful homes tucked into the surrounding hills. Great vistas. The food however was average in quality and not very imaginative. The exception and redeeming choice was the creamy chicken dumpling soup. You pay for the view which is... More

While traveling to Austin for the weekend we stopped at the Oasis Restaurant. Not knowing what to expect we were greeted with its old world charm and many quaint shops. The restaurant is very large but holds a warm charm about it with its eclectic décor. The staff was pleasant and helpful. as we were escorted to our table out... More

So Disappointed. Wanted to order steaks off the menu and was told there were none. We had to view our menus(too dark) with the help of our cell phones. I should have gone with my first instinct and gone to Pappadeaux's. So we settled on the Fajitas ($32) for 2 people which comes with the trimmings, Spanish rice and beans(black-yuck),... More

Beautiful setting for the Oasis Restaurant overlooking Lake Travis. The outside multilevel decks are great for spectacular sunset dining. The inside dining areas are beautiful. The food and beverages were very good. This is one of those unique places you should visit if you are traveling to Austin Texas. They also have a nice gift shop you can peruse while... More

Stopped here for lunch with family. As noted previously, the view is amazing. We initially sat outside but rain squall came in quickly, and we were moved on to the covered patio without a problem. Had the chicken pecan salad, chicken quesadilla, the shrimp tacos and the chicken wrap and everything was very good. Service was also very good. No... More

Sunset view was very pretty as promised but food was just so so. Casual fare. Not sure if there is any option for better dining since we did not make reservation. Worth the drive out of town if you have the time but not worth it if you only have one night in Austin. Would then stay downtown for dinner... More

Seriously. Get a drink, beer, tea, whatever and just look out at that view. Pictures do not do it justice but just soak in the view. Probably one of the most beautiful views in Austin.
