My wife and I are visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Austin and went to Roaring Fork on Stone Lake for our 3rd visit in 3 years. It was as good this time (Sunday brunch off the menu) as all the other times I've been there. My wife had the RF Stack, meat, corn tortilla, eggs and cheese, all stacked... More

I don't know what it is about downtown Austin these days with so many establishments charging New York City prices, so it was partially for this reason that I choose Roaring Fork. Decor and layout are outstanding, the food was excellent, service was attentive and quick. I had the short beef ribs, excellent. Side salad was a bit on the... More

we were a large group with varied tastes and there was something for everyone! the side we were on was great for a group our size and noise level perfect to follow conversations at a distance. beef and fish specials were a hit and the queso was an awesome start with the cocktails. service was super friendly and food came... I had my second meal at the Roaring Fork yesterday, and it was not a better experience than the first time. The service was friendly but sloooow, and the food was mediocre at best. Tourists generally seem happy here, particularly older tourists. If you're hungry or thirsty, it will do. But there are so many fantastic restaurants in downtown Austin,... More

I stopped here after the rest of the gang settled for bar food elsewhere. I had the 16oz NY Strip steak with Cesar salad, mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The Cesar salad was OK; a little wilted. But the steak and sides were superb. I wish I could get dead cow like this at home. I sat at the bar, as... More

The server was very attentive and seemed to know the menu well. Offered lots of flexibility for my picky eating habits. Little expensive but then again it's a nice restaurant.

Got a table for two without reservation on Sunday evening. The place was half empty. Service wasn't the best: too cold, unhelpful. Food was excellent though, really really good. It saved the day and it was actually a very nice experience in the end.

My husband and I love this place and have been here multiple times. We made reservations for 6 people on a Saturday night to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and had tickets to a show nearby afterwards. My daughter's friends invited an extra person, which in itself is not a big deal. However, they were late arriving and he was given... More

Looking for something American classic with a twist. Good choice. We had the tortilla soup, small bowls as starters, full of flavour and chicken, delicious. I was going with the blackened redfish but the waiter suggested the trout. Wow what beautiful fish, deboned with a side beans. Great recommendation. My son had the short ribs, full of flavour and melt... More

I've been sick and housebound for two weeks. Yesterday finally able to declare that I was over the crud. Hubby and I decided to go out to the movies followed by dinner at a favorite of ours, the Roaring Fork, located on Stonelake in north Austin. The day was gorgeous and not too hot so we asked to be seated... More
