Had never been to Cypress Grill before, had heard a lot of folks recommend it. They were right excellent seafood, creole grill. Items are made from scratch. Our waiter was taking a break from the kitchen, he is normally a cook, and waiting tables. Good service, great selections. Cant wait to try the " happy hour" from 3-7 pm and... More

This was our second time, we visited before for branch and went out for Friday dinner this time. My first impression: the space is inadequate for this busy restaurant, period! We arrived at about 6:45 on Friday night and there was a 25 minute wait--understandable. But it was about 100F outside and there were about 15 people crammed in their... More

Good ole Louisiana cooking. We go for the fried shrimp. Good Gulf shrimp taste not farm raised. The crawfish egg roll appetizers were delicious. I liked the gumbo but my husband wasn't impressed. Mojitos are delicious. Margaritas on the rocks not to my liking. They have a strong liquor taste, not crisp and refreshing. Drinks are expensive unless you make Happy... More

Ordered the Chicken Tejano and it turned out to be a very good choice from the many choices available in the menu. Service was excellent and i am looking forward for the next opportunity to go back there and try some other delicacies served there.

Fantastic service and amazing food. We ordered the sampler appetizer and really enjoyed the boudin balls, egg rolls, and crab cake with three sauces. I had the stuffed pork chop. One of my party ordered the shrimp en brochette and declared it the best meal she'd ever had.

Any comparison of Cajun food has to be to just about any successful New Orleans restaurant--that is the only fair way to rank them. This is NOT New Orleans! For Austin, it is fine, but keep your expectations reasonable. The service is very good, prices reasonable, and the place is attractive for a strip mall restaurant. It is very small--less... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. It's easy to get to because it's just off south MoPac. Went there last night and got the pot roast dinner. The beef was tender and flaky with a tasty gravy. It was excellent! My friend got a bowl of gumbo and a muffuletta sandwich. He said that his tasted great.... More

We came for a family dinner on a very busy Friday. It is small, and the wait was quite a while. Just when we had almost given up hope, they seated us, and started feeding us. And it was good, it was surprisingly good. We had quite a range of seafood, chicken, red beans and rice, vegetarian- and it was... More

Hubby and I went there for dinner last week on a whim. The a la carte is impressive enough but our waitress recommended the stuffed pork chop. "You can order anything from the menu anytime. But the pork chop is only here this month. You don't want to miss it." Said she. We took her word and boy were we... More

Cypress Grill was very busy by 11:30 Saturday. Had the Bayous Breakfast that offers 3 sides. Very good food for a reasonable price.
