I always enjoy Threadgill's. There's a sense of the Austin which is being lost there. Food is good, not gourmet, but solid and reliable. The jalepeno corn bread and rolls will fill you up before your entree arrives if you are not careful. Service is always friendly.

Weekday lunch during conference downtown. Decided to get a veggie plate. After the super good yeast roll, the meal went downhill. I like my vegetables healthy, but these were cooked or steamed to downright tastelessness. I was adding butter and salt to everything, which I never, ever do. Another criticism was they put almost all veggies on the same plate,... More

The food is average, but it is a great old Austin original staple. The outdoor music is worth going to. We had a wide variety of ages and need someplace casual to eat. We had 8 year old to 72 year old. Good options to choose from but the food is just average.

Was dining alone, so I sat at the bar. The bartender was busy but helpful and attentive and made good recommendations. Wish that they would give me the recipe for their cucumber wasabi salad dressing!

I visited Threadgill's World Headquarters for a late lunch today and was anticipating a wonderful lunch just as I usually do at Threadgill's . We have been eating at Threadgill's since 1981 when we moved to Austin. Our waitress was just a little distracted during our order taking and forgot to bring the bread, making a comment about wanting no... More

What a tasty experience. Been here several times with family and friends as well as by myself for lunch. Fantastic and historic place where famous Austin musicians got their start. Fantastic food. Good staff. Good parking

Decided to try Threadgills out for the first time since they had some great reviews. Was quite disappointed in our visit. Pros: customer service, friendliness/attentiveness of staff. Cons: food was very bland and overcooked. Nothing tasted like it was seasoned. And that went for the whole family's meals, which we all had something different. The bathrooms were "clean", but smelled... More

We had heard about Threadgills so decided to try it. It was a disappointment. The server was very professional and courteous and the highlight of the visit. The fried chicken tenders were very dry. The asparagus was overlooked and pale and had an odd taste. The broccoli and green beans were very good, steamed al dented as requested. The salmon... More

This restaurant has been here as long as I can remember, and I have some fond memories of eating there as a college student...but I recently ate there with my family, and it was just "meh." The dishes all sound so tasty and comforting, but my food was just downright bland. I had fried catfish, hush puppies, black eyed peas,... More
