Threadgills did the impossible - it satisfied the many diverse tastes and needs of our group. Two people from another country, and another from California - who never had heard of a fried green tomato - one child, some who had dietary restrictions and others who were back in Texas and just wanted a Texas food pig out. Everyone had... More

Good food, a lot like comfort food. The service was great, and our waitress didn't seem to mind that we hung out even after our food was gone. The atmosphere was great, I loved all of the decor.

Went for the history and live music. Honestly didn't expect much out of the food, since it's a buffet. BUT, the cheesy grits were fantastic, lots of fresh fruit, and a cook to order egg/omelet station made for a very yummy brunch! We thoroughly enjoyed the live music as well. Service was great!

A friend was playing the outside stage so we decided to come in town for the evening (we live 45 minutes north of Austin). Got a nearby suite and decided to check out Threadgills a little early to have some dinner. Great southern style options. We're originally from the Deep South so we had to try the fried green tomatoes.... More

This place is a poor excuse. Once Threadgill's was an old Austin place that had some panache for its connection to the live music scene. Even then it wasn't know for its culinary excellence. But now it's a sad Disneyfication of southern cooking - after it's been put through the de-flavoring machine. There are still real places to get this... More

Recently I had the pleasure of having lunch with my mother and my aunts at Threadgills in Austin. The restaurant serves simple, but very high quality food to its patrons and none of us was disappointed. We were seated promptly and served our beverages quickly. The restaurant had an atmosphere that encourage visiting and did not make us feel rush,but... More

We ate here to kill time waiting on the bats. They let us stay parked there while we walked over to the bridge. Service was excellent, rolls are the best. I had the chicken tender plate off the appetizer menu. I wasn't all that impressed with those, gravy helped. Came with a lot of fries!

Had dinner with my daughter and son who recently transferred to UT. Huge portions, too many veggie choices- all sounding wonderful! We tried the meatloaf, buffalo chicken tenders and chicken fried chicken. All were great! Favorite sides were the scalloped potatoes, greens, and butter beans. They offer second on the vegetables too!

Went here for Sunday brunch. They have a brunch buffet that looked good but we chose to order from the menu. Very Austin feel to the place with a comfy and relaxed atmosphere and a live country band playing. Service was friendly and relaxed and the food was good.
