Don't make too many places like this these days, with bar food and kind of a scruffy decor, but excellent hamburgers, that come in all kinds of combinations of add ons, fries all served in a basket...plastic flatware...plastic tumblers...looks like lots of beer to choose and a friendly iconic type establishment.

Stoped in and enjoyed a draft beer while I ordered carry out for dinner. A fellow conference attendee recommended thi place - so I thought I would give it a try. Blonde Ale was delicious. Bartender was friendly. My chicken Po Boy with onions and mushrooms was very large and piping hot when I got back to my hotel room... More

We chose this place because we saw the 2nd floor balcony dining area. The atmosphere was great for people watching. The service was great and food delicious and reasonable.

Stopped in for lunch. Many places on 6th street are not open for lunch so options were limited. If you want quantity over quality then this might be the place for you. No one finished their meal including the teens. In hindsight we should have split a sandwich. Unremarkable food...staff seemed friendly, I would put them in the cool dude... More

Stopped by this historical building on 6th St in Austin for drinks and appetizers. Seated up stairs on the balcony. Great location, and good views of the comings and goings on 6th. The margarita was very good and the specialty drinks looked tasty also. The most impressive was the chicken tenders on the small plate menu. Crispy, juicy and delicious.... More

Excellent dinner and delightful service. First time on 6th street, friend suggested I try this place out. It did not disappoint. My friend had bronze chicken that was served with amazing asparagus. Our other friend had a steak that was prepared perfectly and served with garlic mashed potatoes that smelled so good I almost changed my order. Had a delicious... More

We happened to stop in here the after NYE. We were lucky enough to grab a ticket to their NYE party which was epic. We will be back next year! Anyway, we ate here on New Year's day and the food was really good. The server told us that's part of the fun is how customers are so surprised how... More

Was here for a late lunch. Ordered the chicken fried steak-- both the menu and my waitress said it was the best in Austin. If that's true I will never order chicken fried steak in Austin again. It was greasy, not crisp and in desperate need of salt. The little hole in the wall takeout place I used to order... More

We've always wanted to try Old School and last week we did. The chicken wings were the best we've had since Buffalo. And who would've imagined that a 6th Street venue would have crem brûlée as its only desert.
