We stopped in for a light dinner and ended up enjoying a few tasty draft craft beers with equally tasty appetizers off the Happy Hour menu. The truffled deviled eggs were large and delicious, and the biscuits and Rosemary honey fried chicken thighs......WOW, they were great! Actually they were incredibly great! Highly recommend a stop here. The atmosphere is very chill and you will be happy you dropped in! Our server Chris was also super friendly and efficient!

I was pleased with my food, and give the restaurant high marks for their gastropub menu. The Beef Shoulder was super tender and full of flavor - like a modern take on pot roast. It was a large portion with veggies for only $21. Sean Minor Pinot is $12 per glass. WHY NOT 5 STARS? I knocked off 1 star for the waiter's continuous upselling. We were a party of 7 and he tried to sell us extra dishes too often.

Went on a UT game night, seated quickly and on time. Our server Quinten knew the menu and made several great recommendations, especially the tempura shishito pepper appetizer. Great cocktail list, varied beer selection and excellent food made it easy to see why our weekend hosts have this as their go-to place.

I've been here several times and consistently leave happy. The pork belly is delicious, and the carnitas is a nice alternative if you don't want something that rich. The wagyu cheeseburger is excellent and they cook it to order nicely. The duck fat fries are a noteworthy experience on their own. They have a nice selection of local beers as well.

The food was great and so was the service. The exterior made it seem not too appealing at first, but inside is nice and cozy. You have to eat there at least once. It's not a cheap eats place, but it isn't super expensive either. Try the Mixed Berries Custard and the Pork Belly, your taste buds will be happy.

A group of us decided to try this place the day before Valentine's Day to beat the rush. All I can say is WOW! We had a bunch of different things and we all shared. There wasn't one thing that didn't taste spectacular. We shared the Warm Olives and Triple Fried Duck Fat Fries. Both were exceptional, especially the hot, crispy and perfect tasting fries with egg and Bearnaise sauce. For dinner I had the Milk-Braised Pork Butt with White Beans. It was marvelous. The meat was fork tender and really tasty, the beans perfect. Tastes of the other dinners, another pork dish and Swordfish, all were really good. We shared a Banana dessert that was great also. The service was as good as service can be. This is obviously a great restaurant and we will be back for sure.

The menu offered a wide variety of unique dishes, with a list of rotating specials. The cocktail flight offered is what really sold me on this place. The atmosphere was nice, service was good, and food was great. Perfect place for a foodie to visit.

A must try! The fries are served with a fried egg on top and a simple bearnaise dressing.I paired my fries with some tasty fried chicken thighs. They gave a nice little happy hour. You might be seated with others. A lively little place. A tad over priced.

My Bad, I was looking for a BBQ joint, this is not that I really dont want this review to be negative, if this is what you are looking for. We only sat outside but really enjoyed atmosphere. The menu was limited I expect due to Covid. I would suggest looking at menu before you go, stuff like pork belly and duck fat fries with egg on top. Food was good, drinks selection good, but very expensive.

I love this place. My sous chef introduced me. If you're a burgers and fries, bbq type person then maybe it could be odd to see things like duck fat french fries, beets with goat cheese, and so on. however, if you know quality and aren't afraid to try something different, try this place. The only thing I can say I haven't liked, is the mac and cheese. I feel mine is better, but wouldn't I though?

One of the BEST restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. We ordered the Charcuterie Board, the Duck Fat Fries, the Slow Cooked Beef Shoulder, and the Sow'rita (one of the best margaritas I've had in a long time). Everything was not just delicious, but interesting & intriguing as well. The place has a great vibe. Our server was excellent. Only minor flaw was that the water had a funny, (not-so-funny) taste. But we didn't go there for water. Our server apologized and gave us a break on the bill. We'll definitely be back. So many good plates to try next time.

Excellent piggy restaurant. Everything we ordered was exceptionally delicious. Wait staff also tops. The candied Pork Belly with Duck Fat Fries - perfect meal - topped off with the butterscotch pudding. Wish we had this restaurant in Manhattan - I'd go once a week.

This was somewhat disappointing with an almost redeeming dessert. When researching places to have unique, Austin culinary experiences, we chose the Salty Sow based on reviews. Upon arriving, service was great, sat in a nice spot near the open kitchen and our server was friendly too. Their wine list is very limited, even their “reserve list.” They do have a full cocktail list, with some nice options. The cocktails we ordered were nicely done. The food was really the issue… Their triple fried fries were luke warm when they arrived and definitely not “triple fried crispy” like they should have been! The egg did little to help it and the sauce was totally bland. The brussel peels were tasty and crispy, these were nicely done. Deviled egg was decent, nothing spectacular. The biggest issue with the appetizers was we latterly got them within 3 minutes of ordering them… how’s that possible? Tells me some items were pre-made, which is NOT acceptable in a place where freshness and flavor is key. Also, throughout, it seemed like table turn was important, we definitely don’t like this either. When it came to entrées, the chicken thighs were boring and bland, definitely needed salt. The burger was decent, so was the blackened fish, but neither were spectacular. The carnitas offered nice flavor, but very little zing, nor spice as it definitely needed a little salt. Up to this point, we were indifferent about this visit, then we ordered dessert and their bananas foster beignets were the best thing we tried in this restaurant that evening! Seriously great! But seriously, should dessert have to be the star of the show?

We live 2 hours away and were in town for a Jeff Dunham show. I searched Trip Advisor and the internet for close places. This place kept coming up. They had a good happy hour menu so I decided to try it. So glad we did. Delicious house made totchos, honey rosemary fried chicken, pork carnitas tacos, pork belly tacos, deviled eggs and bread pudding. The honey maple old fashioned was perfect and The Petey cocktail was very refreshing. Thankfully We had early reservations on a Thursday night because they filled up pretty quick. Excellent waiter named Brad knew the menu and explained how everything was made. Always ahead of what we needed. We will definitely return to the Salty Sow to eat. What a gem.

After a long day found Salty Sow a perfect place to relax. Opened with drinks: Blackberry lemonade and a couple of glasses of Pike Road wine, followed by roasted bone marrow and truffled deviled eggs for appetizer. Loved the marrow and crusty baguette ... the eggs ... not sure I'd order them again. I think I can do better at home. Went all in for the beef shoulder, candied pork belly, and petite filets. All were absolutely delicious ... perfect seasoning, rich deep flavors, and reasonable portion sizes. Attentive service by Scott made for a relaxing evening after a long day.
