I went with some girlfriends before a show - if we did not have plans to go to the theater - I would've stayed all night eating and drinking! Their lump crab appetizer was super good and the bread! THE BREAD! geez. I had the special which was pasta dish - HOMEMADE pasta. I still dream about it. Highly recommend.

I did not really know what to expect with this place. The name implies brewpub, the ambiance a chic contemporary yuppie-hipsteraunt and the menu more french inspired upscale than either of the other two factors indicate. Came here on a date and we were sat almost immediately in this cozy little back room that was occupied by two other couples.... More

Hopfields is a hidden neighborhood gem, that while near UT, feels more like you are in a French/British Pub. They have a reasonably priced yet delicious brunch. Evening menu changes however they always have a quality beer or wine to partner with it. They pride themselves on the beer selection. The staff is polite, hospitable and efficient. Great place for... You can enjoy Hopfield's in a couple of ways: the up-front bar area seems like a grad-student/faculty pub area with group tables and a noisy bar area. But, head to the back for some quiet tables and you're in a totally different space. This is where we like to enjoy dinner. Pretty wide-ranging menu, with a wonderful burger, terrific steak... More

Hopfields is a bit of a contradiction. Bar and tv boisterousness in one area, good dining in an informal series of rooms behind the entrance. The food was satisfying, with generous portions and well-spiced, unusual combinations. I had the chicken, which was enough to feed three people. Good value, good service.

We had a nice French Bistro meal at Hopfields. We ate at the bar, which was fun. The bartender served us. He was friendly and talkative, but not very attentive. Food was excellent. The wine list could be bigger and it would be great if they could serve cocktails.

Upon entering it appears to be a well stocked pub with tavern-like seating, but walking through this area you encounter an elegant restaurant setting. Where some dishes are presented in a modern version/funky twist, others are classic French. The steak Tartare was traditional, and perfection on a plate.

This nugget of a place is a must stop adventure. It reminds me of being in a cubby hole place in Paris. Nice woods, private spaces, but also a beer hall atmosphere for the main area. Nice. Burgers are fantastic, beer selection is wonderful. I've appreciated every staff member that I've encountered.

Had dinner next door at Blacks but drank the amazing selection of draft beer from Hopfields and sat at the picnic tables out back. Also stayed for a few more after dinner. Place had great atmosphere and a great staff. Will go back to try the food that looked amazing. A must try!

We've been in Austin for a week now and eaten in some great places but none quite as good as this. Seated straight away, our Borat lookalike waiter was perfect. Knew about all the food and even more about the drinks. We decided to share the Fois Gras, we were informed it was from a well looked after goose, farm... More
