Awesome service and food

The food is made exactly how you want. Small and awesome place to have breakfast. The owner is very polite and takes time to understand your requirement.

I was sorely tempted to walk back into the kitchen in this converted house, to check and make sure my mother in law wasn't back there. I have never had fideo this good outside of her house. There are three menus, one for each breakfast, lunch and dinner, so while they offer a large number of dishes, they focus on... More

Took suggestion from hotel desk mgr and came here for huevos rancheros. Very small little house with maybe 10 tables and one man waiter and cook. But do not let first appearance keep you from great food. We walked in and picked up a plastic-covered menu and sat down. Waiter-cook took our order and quickly brought out the food. Coffee... More

Awesome breakfast burrito! I had the turkey bacon/potato and my husband had chorizo/potato burrito and two drinks and our bill was $9.00. There are only 6 tables, and you order at the counter. The adorable owner was moving people in and out very efficiently. Exactly what we were looking for to enjoy our last meal in Austin!

I was visiting some friends in Austin and I asked them to take me to their favorite Mexican restaurant. We went to La Cocina de Consuelo and I have to say that they made a great choice. I love Enchiladas and I ordered a chicken and beef enchilada. They were absolutely GREAT. The service also was great and the food... More

Where shall I start? First off, I wish the owner was my Abuelita (grandma). She is very sweet and will sometimes bus tables. Second, Let me next talk about the cons: We found this joint in busy location but so far after visiting four times within a few weeks, we always find a way to get parking spot. In other... More

I swear, I thought we HAD to have the wrong place after reading all these "great" reviews of this place and trying it and being so badly disappointed. I was sooooooo excited to try this place after reading the reviews. I LOVE fajitas, they are my favorite food and I just love Mexican / Tex-Mex in general. So after driving... More

This little restaurant has been in my neighborhood for several years at least but I never remembered to go. It's in a small little house right next to the popular bakery Upper Crust. I went here with my family just yesterday, and it was such an amazing discovery for us. We ordered the "breakfast burritos" which are filled with 3... More

When the soulless corporate Blue Meanies at Marriott forced the legendary Las Manitas out of business, I called the owner to ask her, "So now where am I supposed to eat Mexican food around here?" She said, "Go to Elsi's and Consuelo's." Oddly, these places are both on Burnet Road - not a street brimming with good restaurants, but there... More
