Got food delivered twice. Sub-par experience both times. Food can be mediocre, expensive and not expected portions. Goat and Fish entrees were size of apetizers when you look at the amount of protein included. They often forget your drink in the order and the bummer which made me write the review: Be cautious, they can use stale ingredients. Their sprouts... More

This restaurant is serving food from the western region of India - Maharashtra. Many of the westerners will have no idea what this cuisine is like because typical Indian restaurant tends to serve North Indian Cuisine (Butter Chickens, Palak Paneers, Naans etc.) or South Indian Cuisine (Hyderabadi or Idlis & Dosas etc.) So kudos to them for trying to do... This is the first time I am writing a bad review. I never like to do that since I know people work hard to expand their business. But just read this and let me know if this is acceptable at all: So we went there with a group of 7 friends. No body was even present to allot us even... More

Clay Pit, I'm still attracted to your mint chutney but I think we're going to have to have an open relationship. It's not you, it's me. Actually, it's New India on S. Congress. The way they cook their lamb is exactly what I crave and the Saag, medium spicy with lamb and cream is my new desert island food.

Last night I luxuriated in delicious whole red snapper, milionaires curry lentils, naan And Iced teas with my SO, and breezed out with $6 left from our proverbial $50 bill! This little South Austin hole in the wall features freshly prepared Indian food from Western India. Truly delicious!! (We ordered our food as Medium hot, and it worked well for... More

It's always tricky to know what spice level to order in an Indian restaurant. Frequently, "hot" equates to "mild". Not here, however. I ordered the maximum spice level for the "Millionaire Curry", and I got exactly what I ordered: extreme heat. The burning was satisfactorily mitigated by an extra order of cucumber-yogurt sauce, but unless you have a tolerance for... More

This is a wonderful Indian restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere. I had the Chana Masala/Chana Saag as an entreé. It was great to have an option of a dairy-free saag that was so delicious. I have also had the Malvani Roasted Coconut curry, another favorite. As an appetizer, my husband and I had the papad, a spicy lentil cracker and... More

I came here for lunch while in Austin for the day. The atmosphere isn't overwhelmingly great but not bad either. The food was good, a little on the salty side but I really enjoyed the Chana Saag. The Coconut Curry was just okay, I enjoyed the vegetable but not the texture. I would go again just for the Chana Saag.

Popped in for dinner. Im not usually a stickler for service, but I did get the impression almost right away that theres wasnt the best. Waited a while to be seated at the little cafe type joint, and then even longer for a nonchalant server. Tried their tikka masala and saag curries. They werent awful, but lacked a depth of... More
