Calling this a Sushi bar is like calling South by Southwest a little get together. I have never had such creative food prepared with such care in my life. The owner came to us and told us that the chef did not like the way the fish was cooking that we ordered and would not serve it to us. He... More

We live in New York and have been to Japanese restaurants all over...the food here is superb..dishes that I would normally think sounded bizarre together were just incredible. We had a great server who helped with suggestions....great sake and food. Highly recommend.

Basically came here with a friend for dinner. Spent a whole lot of money, was exited for what we ordered and turned out to be a complete disappointment. I mean its ok but most definitively not worth the money. If it was priced half as much would be fair. Portions are beyond tinny. The service is good though. After spending... More

I can't say enough about this place. I went in and said "can you just feed me?" And they did. All but one dish was amazing. This place delivers an amazing experience and delicious food. It's a must.

Visiting my boyfriend who recently moved to San Antonio and we decided to drive to Austin for sushi and a visit to Hippy Hollow. We didn't have a reservation (highly recommend one) but Christopher accommodated us with seats at the bar, where Tim suggested some excellent beverages to accompany our delectable dinner treats. Get there early to take advantage of... More

Location: Good Parking : Adequate Noise Level: Moderately high Waitstaff: Did not like the fact that for such an EXPENSIVE restaurant the waiter was wearing casual jeans! Service: Good Food: The sushi/sashimi dishes were good. The chicken and beef dishes were so-so. There was one "special" fish dish that came in in a wrap (like a purse string purse) where... More

Everyone I know told me if I liked Uchi I would love Uchiko. I thought it was mediocre at best. At Uchiko, the service was poor. Server was stretched thin. I couldn't order second or third round of drinks. Her recommendations seemed to not be based on what we liked in particular or what was fresh for the day, but... More

Too fusion for me. Skimpy on the fish for each dish....and too much of the rice and sauce. Setting is great...really liked the staff and decor. Very expensive based on my dining experience I.e not much fish per dish ordered....and too much rice and sauce...like chips and salsa!!

Uchiko has an outstanding reputation that is well deserved. A dining experience of high quality fair, top notch service. An enjoyable experience, but a little pricey. I wanted to love it, but only liked it.

Uchiko serves delicious, up-scale Japanese food. Some of the offerings include a wagyu hot rock, fried chicken, sushi, etc. All the food is equally delicious!
