Great spot for quick bites and drinks. Very much a trendy bar scene that has been going strong for several years now. Expect the same great quality of Uchi just not as much selection.

We dropped in and got two seats in the sushi bar and had a fantastic night. The food was superb, some of the best sushis and sashimi ever. We had salmon and tuna sashimi, duck served with smoke, edamame, brussel sprouts and two fantastic desserts. All truly fabulous. The service was discrete but attentive. Full score from us. Big don't... More

Went here with another couple on Valentines day. The suggestions from our waitress were on point, and we had some of our own selections that we made. Every bite seemed to somehow beat out the previous though I didn't think it was possible. For four of us, on a valentines day eat-a-thon, with a nice bottle of Sake our bill... More

The food at this restaurant is outstanding. But it's hard to believe they can charge the prices they do and get away with it. For very small strips of bison $28. As you look at the menu the prices are not unreasonable. What you don't realize is the very small quantity of food you're going to get for that price.... More

I'm finding the sushi bars at this brand to be entertaining beyond the norm: the restaurant dynamic, hip clientele, and engaging sushi chefs. Russell was a busy guy that night but still engaging. When I was served the wrong item (Salmon bowl), he left it for my enjoyment and ensured the correct item (bacon bowl) was to come. His recommendation... More

A little out of the city. We did not have a reservation on a Saturday night and were seated within a half hour. We went for the chef's tasting menu and were blown away. Ten courses, selected and prepared without your input. A little pricier option but we felt well worth the experience.

The food is unique, the service is extraordinary and the atmosphere is pleasant. A delightful experience that I wish I had time to repeat. One caution...don't go if you are starving as the items are small. You could run up the tab fast if you have hunger pains.

We had heard so much about this restaurant and I am sorry to say we were disappointed. Everything was fresh, well presented but nothing 'blew us away' in taste. It's good but not fantastic compared to some of the other well know Japanese restaurants in the USA.

I live in Austin and we've been to Uchiko several time. The memories of surprise-deliciousness have blended together a little over time, but here's my take. It's all good! Best advice is to let your server-be-the-guide; they are very knowledgeable about what is being prepared and will gauge the table's "taste" and bring one after another great dishes, expertly prepared... The food and service is excellent here. My only issue and why I docked one point off the rating is that I asked for a taxi cab to be called/requested prior to our dinner being over. I was told it would take hours for the cab to come. (Uber/Lyft left the city). It was suggested that I download another app... More
