Spent almost a hundred bucks for some brisket, a beef rib, a couple of spare ribs, and two desserts. The brisket was the best part of the meat. It was very moist and definitely benefited from the post oak smoke. The beef rib was horrible...More
Franklin's has a much-deserved reputation for outstanding BBQ. My bar is set very high, and I was excited to try Franklin's meat, particularly their ribs and brisket, which are my two barometers for BBQ evaluation. Hearing the issues about lines, we did advance planning and...More
I was surprised how many Austinites asked us if Franklin Barbecue was worth the effort as many have never endured the wait. I’m not sure spending three hours in the heat (ending up with some heat stroke) is worth it for barbecue, but I will...More
We were in town for four days and we love BBQ so I had to try it. But we’re from Central Florida so I’ve been spoiled with 4Rivers Smokehouse for the last decade and I compare it to everywhere I travel. The meat at Franklin’s...More
Just like the headline says. They have good barbecue, quaint atmosphere, nice surroundings and good prices. Downside is there is, almost always, a line. As long as you are patient, your taste buds will be happy.

Brisket was almost perfect, we ordered the...More

Get here while they got some! A must on any visit to Austin - no matter all the other places ... this is where you start. Then yes - keep going. Bring a cooler with your drinks, umbrella if too sunny and grab one of...More
I've eaten A LOT of barbecue since moving to Texas, but Franklin is the best. No argument. We ordered way too much in order to try everything and it was all wonderful. Best brisket I've ever had, perfect in every way. The line is a...More
