The brisket and turkey were delicious. Now it works just for take out and queue is a bit long, but the meal worth it. I’d highly recommend this place

Although I have not yet tasted the tender morsels of Franklin BBQ, the fact that this BBQ heaven is featured in the foodie's foodie movie, CHEF, starring and directed by Jon Favreau is enough for me to give it the highest rating. If you watch...CHEF, you will get a glance of the Aaron FRanklin highest award winning BBQ heaven just about everywhere.More

Just perfect brisket. Just amazing smokiness, char and tenderness. A bonus that the beef is sourced from Halal supplier Creekstone farms.

I had dreamed and planned on coming here for a very long time based on all I had seen and heard on the food network (watch their episode on the chef show for a look at their process). Only takeout during COVID, but on the...good side you don’t have to wait in line for 4-hours. We ordered the day before online and were able to get everything but the ribs. The car pickup process is very COVID safe - it does take about 30 mins but the food is packed well abd is steaming hot and fresh. In the end, the brisket is the far and away star of the show. It is so ridiculously moist and flavorful, I’m sure it will never be matched. It’s worth the whole trip. The Turkey was pretty boring actually. The links were solid. The shredded beef in espresso sauce is super rich and delicious. I wish they didn’t make you order 3 lbs minimum but I get the tough economics around COVID takeout. Be prepared for a very hefty bill, but can you put a price on the best brisket you’ll ever have?More

My Niece and Her Husband ordered Lunch 10 Days in advance and They were already Sold Out of certain Items We wanted. They Ordered Turkey which was as Dry as can be, the Brisket was Better than Terry Black's and Ribs, again I wanted Pulled...Pork and They Out. How can You be out of Anything 10 Days in Advance. We Enjoyed the Sides, and the Desserts which for the Price should have been a Regular size Pie instead of a Bite of Pie. They forgot to put in One of the Desserts and actually brought it to the House. BBQ is so Expensive and You should expect Everything to Be of the Highest Quality and Size especially since We were in Texas. We have Better BBQ in Middle Tennessee. Glad I wasn't paying for it because I was Disappointed in it and would have been Pissed if I had.More

One of the many reasons I enjoyed Austin was because of this place. My girlfriend and I waited in line for 2 hours on a Tuesday morning and I didn't care. I heard so many good things about this place. Franklin Barbecue definitely lives up...to it. Everything we ordered was fantastic! During our wait in line we met a mother and son and sat with them. The food we didn't order they did and we shared. It was awesome. There will be a wait, but it's worth it. I'd rather wait in line here than being stuck in a gift shop with the same stuff. Do yourself a favor and just go.More

Ordered online for pickup curbside 6/26/2021. Fast easy pickup, texted parking space food within minutes,, outstanding quality of food!! BUT!! OMG!! The pepper, maybe coriander spice so I thick on the pulled pork, Turkey was disgusting too much rub, can't taste anything!! The cole slaw...great fresh green and purple cabbage, but the pepper, OMG!! UGH!! Side sauces ok, but overall for a BBQ PIT MASTER on tv, disappointed,, wow not doing it again.More

I have visited Austin many times and I have tried other bbq places and always felt like I was misunderstanding what good bbq is. I always wanted to try Franklins for years and finally got a pre order spot AND… omg it was love at...first bite. Other people say it’s just hype but at least for us it was perfect. We had brisket, Turkey and sausage. I love Turkey but this one is a miss I’ll just stick to brisket. The sausage was good and hearty. We are so happy we finally checked this off our wishlist. I wish it was cheaper they automatically gift themselves gratuity but hey at least it was very organized when we picked up our order and was brought right to our car.More

Just moved to Austin and if I ever questioned the move... one meal at Franklin's has cemented my decision to stay. I have heard about this place and their reputation is as famous as the wait. But when I found out we could order the...food online in advance and pickup, I decided there was no better time than now to try it out. It's very easy to order online. You might have to check several dates if you are looking for something specific; I really wanted to try the pork ribs but they aren't available for awhile so we went ahead and chose other meats just so we could get in and try this place. Our appointed pickup date was only a few days after we placed the order and we were really anticipating the food, but also prepared for a let down in case it didn't live up to the reputation. Once you arrive at your appointed time, it's very simple. Pull into a parking lot with your trunk open so they can keep social distancing and touchless service. We didn't wait too long after arriving. We ordered smoked turkey, pulled pork, brisket, cole slaw, potato salad and for dessert, we got the bourbon banana tart and pecan tart. When we got home and unwrapped everything, it looked amazing and of course, the most amazing smell! But my first bite into the pulled pork... WOW!!!! Of ALL the restaurants I've ever been to in my life, this one truly lives up to the reputation. I've heard about the 3 hour waits and lines at 7am so we are grateful we were able to drive up and pick up food without the long wait. I've had some BBQ before that's pretty good but there is no question, Franklin's should get the award for Best BBQ in the United States if not the world! If extraterrestrials are really visiting our planet... this might be the reason why! But wait, not just the pulled pork... the brisket and the smoked turkey were equally amazing. And the pecan tart and banana tart... make sure you try these amazing treats! I've never had a pecan pie that tasted so fresh. It's interesting how many friends you have when you have Franklin's at your home. We told a few of our new friends we just got back with Franklin's and next thing I knew, they were at my front door! One even said he left his wife somewhere to come over and get Franklin's from us. I consider myself to be a true foodie and even a Vegan would switch for a day after trying this food. If you are anywhere near the Austin area or planning to visit... you must come here! And if you aren't... plan a trip just to try this restaurant. YES, it really is THAT good! We have already been checking the calendar to book our next curbside pickup and I'm excited to try the pork ribs and sausage next time. I was able to dive The Great Barrier Reef, I climbed Machu Picchu and I've seen the great pyramids of Egypt... and I've had Franklin's BBQ!More

Well I can't critique the meat too much. Yes the brisket is awesome. Yes the ribs aren't that great. Mine had too much pepper. Apparently they can't get the rib situation figured out. Its cooked perfectly but the salt/pepper ratio is off and the reviews...state as much. The pulled pork was delicious. But thats where the positives end. The girl/hostess in the parking lot did a great job managing the endless stream of cars and was nice. The people running back and forth delivering orders. Meh, kind of snotty. Asking me to get out of my car so you can put food in my car is pretty stupid. They're in kitchen, in close quarters with coworkers breathing and sweating all over each other. They can hand me my food and walk away. No different than them sticking their head in my car that I've been sitting in for an hour. Me getting out isn't going to save them from COVID. I'd argue them putting food in my car as being worse for them. Lastly, I had to order weeks in advance for my food. Not too much of an issue considering the health concerns and limited working staff. People have to adjust and I'm more than willing to adjust. However, when you make me pay a tip at checkout, weeks in advance, is complete and utter B. S. I'm all about tipping when I'm sitting at my table and you're waiting on me, filling my drink and bringing me extra napkins. But to walk my food to my car and that is the limit of your service on a $200 meal does not necessitate a 10% tip. What level of service did I get for $20 that I have to take home/hotel to eat. They walked 100 feet with a bag in their hand. At most $5-10 was appropriate. So on a typical lunch shift, they're making at least $100 an hour. I busted my ass daily for $30 an hour working 10 hour days for $300 risking life and limb. They work 3 hours and make the same. Complete Bull Crap!! Try other BBQ in Austin or the greater Austin area. They're as good as Franklin's.More
