Nice neighborhood bar that settled in neighborhood to grab a beer on the way home. The interior is multi area. As you get closer to the bar, the music is louder. We ordered our beers and sat that the tables closer to entryway. More quiet...and intimate. Nice bar area, came for a beer. 6 beers on tap. Beer served cold and everyone working was very nice, friendly, and attentive. Saturday at 4pm was quiet. Bathroom: gender neutral bathrooms that are between average and below average cleanliness. The toilet, urinal, sink, and fixtures are black which makes it really difficult to see if they are clean. I personally hate black bathroom fixtures.More

My husband and I went to a late dinner (9:30 PM) here a couple of months ago. It was uniformly AWFUL. We couldn't get out of there fast enough, but the SLOW service made it agonizingly difficult to leave! It was very loud - although...there were only two other tables occupied. The patrons were screaming, yelling and creating a general ruckus. The service was slow because the single waitress was busy partying with those two tables! We should have left at that point, but we hoped the food would make up for it. But no, the food (when it finally arrived) was terrible and bland (think bad hospital food). I ordered the chicken chile relleno special. It was like a tasteless 1950's stuffed pepper, and was served with gummy unseasoned white rice (remember the hospital food part). Don't go here unless you just want to drink.More

We went here for lunch and were quite pleasantly surprised to find what is quite a nice neighborhood pub. The fish and chips are excellent and the sandwiches are also very good. We look forward to having a drink here in the evenings. Particularly nice...is that they are open till midnight every evening. I do wish they had some British beers on tap, but so far so good.More

I went for lunch. There are a bunch of different burgers, but all have cheese. I had them hold the cheese, and it was fine but not spectacular. The fish and chips description said the fish was fried in duck fat. Unusual and the waitress...said it was awesome but I wasn’t adventurous enough to try. My sister got a sandwich with a fancy name, but it was essentially a fried egg sandwich. The decor is ok but a bit dark. The menu for happy hour seemed pretty limited. The service was slow. I wouldn’t object to going back, but wouldn’t be enthused.More

They used duck fat for frying. Love the taste. Have been there twice and enjoyed both times. The wait staff is friendly and the food very good. The fish and chips are really good, as are the fries and slaw.

Ate here with my wife for dinner. Both of us are trying to eat clean, and have certain dietary restrictions. No problem for this neighborhood gem; made us entrees on request! Wow! Grilled wings were delicious, good size, simply seasoned per our request. Served with...pickled red onion and celery, bbq sauce on the side. The entrees? Truly special. I had redfish on grilled veggies. Perfectly cooked fish and tasty veggies. My wife had a large burger and blue cheese on assorted greens. Wife said it was great. Timely water refills. Upbeat staff. This is a really good restaurant. Nice bar area too. Anyone that thinks this place is pricey is wrong. Reasonable prices. Cozy/comfortable place too. Great dinner experience!More

My husband, son and I ate at the Westwood on a Thursday evening. We were the only diners seated at tables. The bar seemed to have a few regulars hanging out. We ordered two slider specials and a regular BBQ burger. For not being busy...the food took a long time to get to us. My sons order was messed up. He ordered sliders: meat, cheese and bun; basically plain. Came with sauces and veggies. They had to remake adding to the delay. That plus three beers and a DP came to over $70!!! Not sure how they intend to survive as a restaurant as my family of five ate out tonight for $65!! It’s unfortunate because the area could use a decent restaurant.More

We dined here on a Friday evening, arriving about 6.15. We got a high table next to the window, all the better to watch literally dozens of cars turn into the parking lot looking for a parking spot, and ending with three point turn-arounds to...leave and park in the church lot allowed for overflow parking next door (as we also had to do). So, @ 6.15 we got water and ordered a glass of wine ($11, limited wine selection). Finally at 6.30 our server reappeared and took our order. The menu is basic pub food, burgers, fish & chips, and the like. The menu also showed three offerings: a chef's special, a veggie special and a soup special. We asked what the veggie special was, and were told there wasn't one that day, but were informed what the soup of the day was. So, we ordered, and waited. And waited. While we were waiting we scoped out the restaurant. I counted no less than SEVEN TVs in the bar area (where we were seated)--but they were ALL tuned to the same channel, the football draft. No baseball or basketball in sight! We also noticed on the wall on the far side of the bar a chalkboard listing today's specials, including one i would have ordered (pork chops) instead of my burger if I'd have known about it. Our waitress never mentioned the other specials, even when we asked about the veggie special. Finally after a 25 minutes wait, our food finally arrived. In total it was 45 minutes from when we walked in the door til we got our food. Another odd thing was there were no condiments on any table--not even salt & pepper, which had to be requested from the server. Also, while the $11 burger was quite tasty, nothing came with it--not even a pickle, and certainly not fries, which are extra. I opted for homemade chips ($2) which were good. My wife enjoyed her Brussels Sprouts and said they were among the best she's had. There is also a small outdoor dining area, facing the street. All in all, some work needs to be done in training, not to mention hiring more staff. Our entire dining experience was close to 90 minutes. Full bar, with many craft drinks offered.More

You can feel the ambiance and good vibes when you first walk in The Westwood Gastropub. Usually greeted immediately by the owners James or Heath. The bar area toward the back is roomy with an adequate amount of tables chairs. Nice choice of Texas draft...beers ( Electric Jelly Fish my favorite), full bar and crafted cocktails not usually found in other restaurants. Off to the right is a large room for a nice casual dining experience. Chief Allie prepares a varied menu: Salads, Duck fat fish and chips, cheese curds, hamburgers and frys, calamari, steaks and more. The food is always fresh, tasty and beautifully presented.More

Come on down to this wonderful place that has just opened and enjoy absolutely everything they make! We have been twice and enjoyed the atmosphere, very relaxed but great food and drinks, and Charissa and Alexa are 2 fabulous servers! Both great on knowing and...advising on drinks especially. Have the duck fat fried fish and chips....AMAZING!!! This is a much needed neighborhood place. James and his business partner have done a great job and everyone is so welcoming!More
