About
La Volpe, which means “the fox” in Italian, draws inspiration from the simple and seasonal cooking traditions of Italy with touches of Southern influence and our passion for hospitality. At La Volpe, we hand prepare artisan comfort food to feed the soul. Executive Chef Will Eason's menu showcases an array of American and Italian-inspired dishes, from house-roasted meats and fresh seafood and grilled steaks to seasonal vegetables and fresh salads, as well as house-made pasta and desserts. The menu is always changing with seasonal dishes and specialties because we believe in the joys and pleasures of homemade fresh dishes that change with each season. Great food, atmosphere and service. I’m not sure why this restaurant was rated number 700 and something in Austin with consistent high reviews. The reviews are worth it. A food magazine rated this restaurant highly and my food was outstanding in taste, execution, presentation and...portion size. The pricing was reasonable too. The wine list wast marked up 100% vs retail prices so you pay $50 for a $25 bottle of wine but they did their homework. The wines on their menu are generally good value vs most restaurants that markup some crappy wine a similar amount. This place deserves a higher ranking on TripAdvisor. I’d certainly bring friends here. It wasn’t crowded on a Wed night. Highly recommended.More

This restaurant is fantastic! We were a large group (pre-wedding family and friends dinner) taking up a long table in the "loft". First, the restaurant has a great look and vibe. The main area downstairs was sleek and classy. Outside our upstairs table was a...comfy patio. Second, the cocktails, beer and wine selections were excellent. Third, the food was heavenly. We were served large plates family style with a variety of delicious appetizers and entrees (beet gnocchi to die for among other things). Finally, the service was flawless. Can't say enough--obviously very well managed!More

What Can I say ? When in Austin you should visit La Volpe, my first time around and by far I am already in love. I had no idea about the restaurant but my mom is from around and she told me about this incredible...place. I love the scenery, usually I don't pay that much attention but the art as well as everything around just did a perfect job of setting the right mood. My wife tried the "Pan Seared Black Drum with squid ink linguini" and I tried the Ribeye with ribbons of creamy white marbling. It was absolutely amazing, I will certainly be back with Mom and her husband, got to treat them to this beautiful experience and restaurant.More

We chose La Volpe for our anniversary dinner and overall the meal was great. We started with the scallop crudo and fresh bread, I can’t say I’d recommend either of them. The bread was just so so and the scallops didn’t have much flavor. The...main entrees were a different story, I ordered the lobster ravioli which was fantastic and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the pork chop. We also got the brussel sprout side dish and it was delicious! Our server Barbara was very attentive and sweet, she even got us a Prosecco toast for our anniversary. Overall I’d recommend for a nice dinner in Austin!More

I came with a group of six for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere was nice. As we sat down, the wait staff seemed friendly, attentive and fun. Wine was selected, appetizers were served. We ordered dinner. All was going well. Dinner was served. There was...on NY Strip ordered. 2 Lasagna. I risotto and one duck. The steak was brought out. Sliced! 5 minutes later, as we waited for the other entrees, the pasta. No duck? By now the steak was cold. After five minutes the one friend unserved insisted we eat. 30 minutes later the duck. The waiter apologized blaming the kitchen. Really? I am pretty sure the waiter, not the kitchen delivered incomplete orders to the table. Really, I cannot say whether our meal was good. By the time we ate it was cold. It takes a good team to make a good restaurant. I am sure la volpe does not know good team. There are so many great establishments in Austin. This one disappoints.More

The service was phenomenal!!! We didn’t even notice our food took as long as it did because of the beautiful environment but they offered a free glass of wine and dessert! We turned down the dessert because we too full from their delicious food! I...recommend this place FOR SURE!! If you’re wanting to order a good drink the aurora is great!!More

We had a fantastic meal at La Volpe, a selection of small plates were generous enough to satisfy. Our waiter was passionate and knowledgeable about the food and we loved the decor. Would definitely recommend.
