Great Bar, with a very extensive beer and whiskey list...To be expected in a good Irish pub. Great food, traditional pub fare along with some unexpected treats, like lamb sliders. Texans beware..chips and sauce means large French fries and various condiments. This is our traditional pre-concert place, as it is 2 blocks from the ACL venue.

The atmosphere is a little dark but at the same time charming .... Little coves throughout . There was a musky (almost old smoker bar) smell about. The food and service were good and the prices were reasonable for the area. I heard they have live music from time to time, but not when we were there.

This is probably the first review I have written about a place I wasn't able to eat or drink at! What a crazy scene it was. I don't think I have heard that much noise anywhere I've ever been before. This pub scene is obviously catering to college students who are letting loose. If I were younger I would have... More

The atmosphere is very nice at this Irish pub. We ate some snacks which were good and the Guiness draft beer was very good.

Fado is really more of a pub than a restaurant/pub. Some of the food was traditional Irish but a lot is just an Americanized version of Irish food. I had the shepherd's pie (which is really more of a cottage pie...made with beef instead of lamb) was pretty good. The place is entirely too dark and it took a while... More

Travelling with three Irish guys, we were bound to check out the Irish grub at this place. Sure they had all the traditional fare and it was tasty (the shepherd's pie was excellent, so were the fish and chips) but there were two things that could have made the evening better. Our 'server' was spread rather thin over the restaurant,... More

My friend and I stopped in at about 8pm on a Thursday and we immediately fell in love with this place. It was the first time since we hit Austin I felt at home. The server helped us quickly and helped me pick a beer to drink because I had never had one before. The food was what pulled us... More

Fado is a nice pub on 4th street in Austin. Rather clean bathrooms. Good beer selection. Nice outdoor patio. Nice and friendly staff.
