I always love going here because not everyone in our group can agree on what to eat and where to eat. So this gives everyone a variety to choose from. And another thing is no one ever complains that they did not like the food,...its amazing to have a party of 8 or more with no complaints, even the little ones actually sits down and eats . so if your are looking for a home cooked meal without having to clean the dishes and be able to enjoy your company this is the place to come.More

This restaurant moved from prior location. The wait staff and food have for some reason gone a bit downhill. With so many restaurants in the area I’d put this one towards the end of my list

The Sunday after church crowd has found the Black-Eyed Pea food to be good and at a good price. At 2 PM, we had a short wait for a table to open. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Service was fairly quick. There is a...menu for seniors (65+), but you need to ask for it. I had the Baked White Fish with a lemon sauce and two side dishes and cornbread or yeast rolls and either coffee or tea. My wife ordered the meatloaf with the same number of sides and a drink. we found the food to be very good and served hot.More

We had 4 couples & enjoyed our leisurely lunch!! Our server did a very good job. It would be nice if they had someone who refills drink through the rush.

We have been going to the Pea for years. Classic TX cafe cooking. We had turkey dinners. Good selection of sides: mashed potatoes, green beans, fried okra, squash casserole, etc. They also have vegetable plates, a throw-back to my TX childhood. Josh was our helpful...and friendly server. The Pea has been having some financial troubles so they have closed several locations. Glad to know they are still in business and the food is still goodMore

Good quality, home cooking. Good prices, excellent quality, huge variety. Order the tea. Enjoy the bread. Fairly quick take out. Good place for families, for a good visit with a friend.

Went there as a group of eight and was greeted and seated by a very energetic and gregarious man. After taking our drink orders he explained they were working shorthanded by four staff members and was very apologetic. I watched him for the duration of...our stay and he was literally running between tables, the kitchen, and the register all the while keeping a smile on his face. I never saw another staff member on the floor and for all I know he was back there cooking too. All things considered it was a good experience. The world could use a few more people like him.More

There is a reason this is last black eyed pea restaurant left....the meatloaf was horrible...the tenders were dry....the chicken fried steak tough....the cornbread was excellent though....the quality of the food has gone down through the years, quite a shame, used to be a great place to go...
