Food and service were both great.
Marking it down for a very haphazard approach to COVID. Menus haven’t been replaced with either a QR code or throw-away paper. Our used menus went right back into a stack for use with zero disinfecting.
Even though there is a sign on the door asking for mask use, patrons were rolling in the door and wandering around the restaurant with no masks on. Perhaps this is a Texas thing? We did not feel safe eating there which is sad because, as I said, it was very good otherwise.

Mr. Patridge, I appreciate your comment about our food and service. Both are very important to us and we strive to be the best in West Texas in both.
We also strive to be 100% compliant to all standards and procedures set forth by our local government as well as guidelines set forth by the state and CDC in regards to the current pandemic we are experiencing. That is why I do take exception to your comment that we are "not COVID compliant." We are, have, and will continue to do everything that is being asked of us and more. We did have one time use paper menus and QR code menus, however we have been told that we may do away with those if we are using cleanable surface menus. After spending 1,000s upon 1,000s of dollars on the one time use paper menus, we did decide to switch back to our regular menus. Mr. Patridge, we absolutely clean and sanitize each and every menu after use. WE HAVE DONE THIS FOR THE LAST DECADE PLUS, before the pandemic, and will continue to do so after the pandemic is over. I certainly do apologize if you feel you were not "safe" in our establishment, however we are going above and beyond all protocols in place. I have traveled to 74 countries and have eaten some of the most incredible meals imaginable. Visiting family in Amarillo, we went to Macaroni Joe's. When we walked in I was pleasantly surprised by such a beautiful interior. I felt like I was taken out of a small city in Texas and transported to a restaurant in Italy! Ambiance and atmosphere perfected. On to the magnificent food. I will say that without question, one of THE best, most delicious, favorable, well-prepared meals I have ever experienced was at Macaroni Joe's. While my family of 7 had excellent meals, I had the pleasure of eating the Blackened Bayou Pasta with Shrimp. Everything on my plate was cooked to perfection! The pasta, the shrimp and especially the sauce. I would literally buy the sauce if it were bottled! I'm fortunate enough to get to Amarillo several times a year. I cannot wait to get back there to enjoy this meal again! I am serious when I say this meal would be in my top 5 meals from anywhere in the world! If you are anywhere near Amarillo, Texas, I cannot give a higher recommendation than this place!

Loved the Tuscan ambiance—like dining in an Italian villa. Great lunch selections, reasonably priced and good service. My fillet with grilled veggies was tender and flavorful. Hubby loved his shrimp and pasta in lemon cream sauce. Evelyn was a fantastic waitperson in suggesting items from menu and finding me a Topo Chico. The bread pudding with bourbon pecan sauce was fantastic.

The fillet wife had was fine. I had the ribeye it was awful.
It was cooked properly, but there was way too much fat and gristle, even for a ribeye. Both were served floating in a pool of balsamic vinegar which completely destroyed the taste of the steaks. Our service was excellent and the manager deducted $10 from our bills for the balsamic vinegar. the diced potatoes cooked to a crisp. Ambience was outstanding and the wine was excellent but a bit pricey. The waiter should have warned us about the balsamic vinegar.

I’ve never been here and thought we would try it. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was awesome, the hostess and waitress were polite and friendly. The service was quick without being premade, and the food.... oh my gosh it was amazing... full of flavor with every bite. We will definitely be back.

Love the casual Italian atmosphere in the back room along with our favorite table. Chris was great with the wine and waiter efficient friendly and courteous. The menu has a nice variety of choices to choose from. We split a Caesar salad and the Steak Dianne. Presentation was nice and portions just the right size for us. Food was delicious, definitely recommend. Recommend also making a reservation for dinner to avoid waiting to be seated. Plenty of free parking available.

We booked a valentine's reservation for 4:30. We arrived seated by the door. Very cold every time the doors open . Ask server for another table was told sorry they have been assigned. We go every valentine's day and have hosted corporate events . We left called and spoke with Chris told him we left and why and he said sorry nothing we can do. Will not be back .

Hi Kira. First of all I would like to sincerely apologize if you feel you had a bad experience. We obviously want all of our guests to feel comfortable and enjoy their time at our restaurant. We are also very appreciative of your support throughout the years, as that is what keeps us going as a locally owned restaurant, our loyal customers. I would like to take this time however to point out a few things that you have left out or maybe forgotten. I truly believe if you go on these sites and bash a business, you must tell the whole story and I do not believe the whole story is being told here. You were offered on two different occasions by two different people the option to sit in our lounge area if you were not happy with your table. This area is extremely sought after by our guests and we absolutely do not take reservations for those tables. They are first come, first serve. For this Valentine's Day weekend we turned away countless amounts of folks wanting these tables. We were prepared and ready to give you one of these tables, however you turned it down twice. As busy as we are on this particular day we have everything mapped out and all tables timed out. If I were to move you to anywhere else it would have just thrown a wrench into everything that was planned and mapped out from the jump. Also, your post really makes it sound like you were 5 feet or so from the front door. The table you were seated at is literally over 30 feet from the door. We had at least 6 seatings at that same table and not one person complained, and I made sure to speak to everyone of them. Lastly, I absolutely did not say "nothing we can do" when you called to complain again. I would not have said that because there was something we could have done and we tried to. Intended to go to a different restaurant, (it was closed). Found Macaroni Joe's, around the corner! They need to be sure to get on Apple/Yahoo/Google search for Steak restaurants or Italian. It is a MUST EAT Place! We ate there on the way through Amarillo two different days. Coleman was our bartender/waiter in the bar. Anytime passing thru, this will be our "go to"!

We reserved our requested table and were seated quickly. Atmosphere is very romantic and reminds us of a small Italian village when we lived in Tuscany. Our waiter James provided us with excellent service. Our appetizers and main course were delicious. Portions were decent size for us to split. Presentation was good 👍. Prices our slightly above average. Parking is free in lot in front but limited. There is a small covered patio area outside when weather permits. Although we like the Italian style interior. Definitely 👍 recommend.

First highly recommend having a reservation. We did and therefore got a nice table quickly. The atmosphere is rustic Italian in fact reminds us of the town of Verona Italy. Our waiter Ryan was very friendly and took good care of us. We started with the Calamari then the Wedge salad. For main course I had the Scallop with Risotto. My spouse had the Swordfish. Both meals were delicious and we would definitely recommend. 👍👍 Parking is free in the lot outside.
We will most definitely come back.

We have always loved the food and service and this visit those were excellent. The problem is the hostess staff. We had made a reservation through Open Table for 6:15 on March 23. We arrived on time and were offered the worst table by the front door traffic. There were other tables with reserved signs. The hostess was unable to explain the difference. We had requested the front room but there were plenty of 4 tops available. She insisted we take the table she had asked us to take or the one across from it. Kind of put a damper on a festive evening.

Passing through Amarillo, we wanted a nice meal and a place to unwind after a long drive. We went here based on Trip Advisor reviews.
The food was ok. Nothing special. The service was not the best. If you are a wine aficionado and want ok food and so-so service, this is your place.

Stopped overnight in Amarillo on cross country roadtrip. Ordered takeout from Mac Joe’s and it was delicious! Packaged great - everything was super fresh and stayed hot. Exactly what we needed!

The best restaurant ever! Great atmosphere and kyler and Llyam were awesome. The food was excellent and reasonable as was the wine. The entire staff was friendly. It’s our new favorite restaurant.

Nice atmosphere and quite even when busy. Various choices of food. Wait staff were really good. Try the Bread Pudding for dessert it is outstanding. Would highly recommend.
