Waited for 40 plus minutes before we were seated! Ordered filet mignon medium; when the meal arrived it was well done and definitely not a filet. It was rather tough and cold. Ditto my husband’s prime ribs which was cold and well done. Our server...was kind enough to return with the right order; medium and hot and filet mignon/ prime ribs!More

We read the many reviews and decided to check The Big Texan Steakhouse out for ourselves and we loved it. We ordered filet mignons to go with cheesey mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese as well as an extra order of rolls and all was...fabulous! Our filets were very good and cooked perfectlyMore

I’ve finally had the chance to stop in the Big Texas Steak Ranch. The gift shop is definitely tourist trappy. I didn’t have much time to sit down and eat for lunch so I ordered takeout. I had the rib and brisket combo. I must...say, it was well prepared beef. Simple, grilled to perfection over wood. Don’t know what type of wood but it showed up one every bite. If one ever passing through Amarillo I’d stop by again next time I’ll make it a point to have a proper sit down lunchMore

This is our favorite place to eat in Amarillo. Not only is it a fun restaurant with great food and HUGE portions, we love the limo service. After a long day on the road, the last thing my husband wants to do after parking the...RV is get back on the road. The limo service is excellent. In the past Roger was our driver and we really liked him so I requested him this time, but unfortunately he wasn't working that night. This time Scott was our driver to the restaurant and Mark drove us back to the campground. Both of them were very friendly and we really enjoyed the rides with them. We really enjoy the guys who come to our table and play a song for us. Our waitress was also excellent. The only bad thing was the rude lady at the hostess stand when we checked in to get on the waiting list. The young lady that worked Friday night (4/30) really should not be in a customer-facing position. Thankfully all the other employees made up for her rudeness so she didn't completely ruin the night. The hostess that brought us to our table was very nice also, I'm only referring to the one at the check-in stand as you enter the restaurant. She wasn't very nice.More

Well where to begin! They advertise they have free pick up - we ordered a ride for 7 PM at 4:30 PM. We were out front of our hotel about 6:45 PM as a courtesy. We waited until 7:20 and called-Shirley assured us he would...be there soon. We called again at 7:45 to tell them we would drive ourselves, she again said he was really close. He arrived at 7:55 PM with no mask and a car full of people. We asked if they were wearing a mask and he informed me it was their choice. Well it was my health choice to drive ourselves after we waited almost an hour. When we got there, people were sitting outside obviously waiting. My husband pulled up so I could go see what the wait was. I found it was 45 minutes and told them I would not wait as no one had a mask on. I told the manager the trouble we had with the pick up service. When I came out, there was this little old man filming me. From what my husband told me he came up to the window snd beat on the window and ordered him to move. My husband got out of the car and told him to get away from our car and him. The man then said this was a valet area - no marking and the old man had no identification he worked there and only had a cell phone. He never asked if we wanted to valet - extremely rude! He then told my husband we were banned from ever coming back. Well that was fine with me because this is a tourist trap, no concern for health from their driver to the girl taking names. And none of the patrons were concerned with health either. Don’t waste your time or money!More

When the salad and rolls are the best part of your meal at a “world famous” steakhouse, you’ve got a problem. We rode motorcycles up from Fort Worth because we’ve always wanted to try this place. We expected a steak quality along the lines of...Saltgrass or Texas Roadhouse. Not even close. We were seated promptly upon arrival and the waitress was pleasant and took our order timely. We hadn’t even finished our salad and appetizers when out came the steaks. The steaks were barely warm and almost raw inside. They were as rubbery and hard to cut as the bottom of my Wolverine riding boot. We ordered medium rare, but this was barely cooked. This is a $26 strip steak mind you. Looking back, I don’t even think they use Prime beef. The steak was sent back to be cooked more. It was brought out again and still raw inside. It was sent back a second time. While we were waiting for the steak, the salad plate and 2 appetizer plates were still on the table. Nobody would bus the table or bring us more tea. Our waitress disappeared into the abyss. We grabbed a hostess and asked her to find our waitress. She looked at us as if we were from another planet and walked away. When the waitress finally appeared with the steak (rubber boot sole) it was still barely medium rare and one quarter of the steak was fat and gristle. And we had to ask the waitress to remove the dirty dishes as she initially walked away empty handed. Forget about getting a refill on iced tea. This steak, even after being sent back twice, was inedible. It doesn’t even have a good flavor like Saltgrass. The Caesar’s salad was quite good and the rolls are delicious. Too bad the waitress only brought the initial basket and never refilled it. She told us upon being seated that rolls are unlimited. It was par for the course. This place is overrated, overpriced and nothing but a tourist trap. I would not recommend it to anybody and most certainly would never return. Too bad because we were looking forward to a good meal. Instead we had upset stomachs and a bad memory.More

I brought a hockey team to Amarillo for a tournament on opening weekend of baseball season. I called ahead to see if The Big Texan could accommodate 40 people on a Saturday night. I spoke with Ron and he said he would make it work....Saturday rolls around and Ron has our tables set up and waiting for us!! The restaurant was packed I could not believe he was able to pull this off for us. Ron is a miracle worker who definitely deserves a raise. Our service was impeccable and the food was awesome. We could not have asked for a better night. Thank you to Ron and The Big Texan!!!!More

Wife and I both got the 10 oz prime rib dinner which was amazing. Sides were really tasty too. Cole slaw had that not too sweet, not too tangy taste that I like. I want their recipe for potato salad! Warning - if you get...the full size appetizer of fried mushrooms, you'll likely need a to-go box. Way too many for two people in one sitting. The best part is the price. I fully expected to pay close to $100 but it was $66 bucks - absolutely can't be beat! Great wait staff too with short wait times at the door.More

Howdy! Service dogs are welcomed in the restaurant, however, we ask that all other well behaved dogs sit in our outdoor beer garden.
