I love Calico County! It reminds me of all the great restaurants we had along Route 66 in the 1960s, as well as, the wonderful meals cooked on a farm or ranch. The atmosphere is cozy with all kinds of sign posts, and wall pictures of the past and a more easy going life style. The food is simple but... More

Asked our Uber driver for a local favorite and this is where we ended up. It was worth it. When breakfast starts off with a basket of cinnamon rolls you know the rest will be great. Food was good as well as the service. Great 50s atmosphere.

Very nice place for breakfast. The wait staff was outstanding. Eggs cooked to perfection. Orange juice comes in a frosted mason jar.

We were in town to do business and had dinner here as we do whenever we are in town. This is a Western Style place with TVs all around showing Fox News. They have local newspapers you can borrow and replace when you are finished. Each meal begins with home made rolls and a couple of sweet rolls. I had... More

This was a home cooking type restaurant with a lot of menu choices. I had the vegetable plate with a salad. The food was very similar to what you would find at a cotton patch restaurant.

We met some old friends at this great breakfast spot which is clearly a favorite with the locals. This is the perfect breakfast spot. Having food allergies (gluten-free and dairy-free) they were more than happy accommodate. It was no big deal for them. The coffee and iced tea were flavorful and fresh, our cups never emptied. We highly recommend this stop.

Yummm! The best Chicken Fried Steak I have ever had!! Whew...it was huge! Had plenty for leftovers. The gravy did not have enough pepper for me, no worries I added it. My husband said the gravy was perfect! The atmosphere is simple. A lot of locals were there. This way you know it is good. An old establishment been there... More

I gave this restaurant a 3 because of the mixed reviews of my party. About half of us really liked our meals and the other half did not. I had the chicken fried chicken and it was really good. I also liked the black eyed peas. The menu is large and filled with the comfort foods I grew up with.... More

Read all the reviews so we thought we would eat there for date night. Hostess was sweet, got seated right away. Our server was having a bad night, that is how she acted anyway. Got our drink order mixed up and when she brought our rolls out, they were hard. I asked for fresh rolls when she brought out our... More

Just the kind of place we look for when we travel - local, not a chain. Chicken strips, candied carrots, dumpling soup were excellent. Fast, friendly service.
