A little pricey, but pretty worth the price. Amazing shrimp and calamari appetizers (the biggest chunks of calamari I've ever seen!). Excellent steaks and veggies and the drinks were very tasty!

Because we love the FTW location, making Reata our first stop in Alpine was a given. I made reservations a few days prior and was glad I did. We had delicious pomegranate margaritas on the lovely patio, then moved inside to the rustic dining room for dinner. The food was good, the servings large. We had the evening specials, salmon... My husband & I had the pleasure of dining at Reata's Restaurant in Alpine. We Requested that we be seated on the patio. It was such a beautiful area with stone walls painted with murals that reflected the Western/cowboy culture of the area. Trees scattered around the patio area helped to create the perfect ambiance. Service was excellent, prompt, and... More

Every time I have a tour that I am taking to Big Bend, we always stop at the Reata for lunch. And every time I recommend to my clients to get some of the jalapeno & cilantro soup as a starter. After that they are on their own making one of those challenging decisions on what to eat next...

We were taking a W Texas trip with an overnite stay in Alpine. Found this place on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a go. We chose to be seated outside as the sky was overcast and temperature quite moderate - unusual for August!. Had the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer - only 3 shrimp but they were quite large.... More

I hate to do this but I'm going to recommend Reata for everything except service. Good food, fair prices (except of their margaritas), and a neat setting. However, our waitress had the personality of a door stop. Not the least bit welcoming, she didn't even introduce herself until asked, and she couldn't be bothered for a smile, let alone chit... This restaurant surprised me. It is a nice, rustic, wonderfully quaint place with a great menu. We were there for lunch and everyone loved their food selections. I would go back.

The restaurant is charming & pleasant & the food good. My vegetable platter was substantial & good. My husband's dish of pork chops was 'ok'. Our wait person was good but lacked attention to detail. I opted out of one of the vegetable dishes in my platter because it had an ingredient I am intolerant to & I mentioned this.... More

Charming restaurant with excellent food and service! Would highly recommend it. My family had lunch here during a visit to the alpine downtown area. It was recommended by 2 of the local shopkeepers.

We found this place in Trip Advisor and had lunch here. It was delicious. We had a cheeseburger, which was served with seasoned fries and all the trimmings. We shared it and the split it for us in the kitchen, always a nice thing to have done. They had a tray of delicious looking desserts but we were too full... More
