Took my daughter and wife for lunch and we loved it, so we decided to go for dinner and drinks and it was stupendous.

We enjoyed a very good Saturday evening meal at Reata. The Carne Asada and Chicken Fried Steak were very good. The Onion Ring appetizers were excellent and the Cheese jalapeno grits were a surprise; in a good way.

The menu had something for everyone. The sour cream enchiladas were very tasty and the whole pinto beans and rice were delicious! My son order the amazing chicken fried chicken and I'm glad he let me try. The place is not very big and can't accommodate large groups very easily. They were packed and Although we didn't make a reservation... More

It's always a hit or miss with this restaurant. Some days it'll be really good and sometimes it's horrible. One thing that bugs me is when you're eating the cook will come out to see who orders what. Everyone should get the same service. But I guess that's what you get in this small town where there is no competition.

This is my third time visiting this restaurant in two years and I live 400 miles away. So when I visit Alpine it is my go to place. The bar area is being remodeled and was closed off this visit. Did not cause a problem except several walk ins were disappointed. I suggest making reservations. This restaurant is in an... More

The Reata is in an old house on the main drag. We stopped here for lunch and were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding. If you are in the area, don't miss this place

We had dinner here based on traveller reviews. We ordered the bacon wrapped crab stuffed jalapeños which are to die for and chicken Caesar salads. The bread that came with dinner was superb so we couldn't understand why the croutons in the salad were so bland. Wine selections were good as was the service

Mashed potatoes were too garlicky and green beans too full of bacon fat. So disappointed! The chicken breast was fair. We also thought that the service was only average.

Very authentic food and atmosphere. Portions were large and the wait staff was attentive. The decor is western, with a very old and somewhat well known mural. Bar was being refurbished, so couldn't see it.

Thank Philip B
