Good food, large portions, light and fluffy biscuits. Gravy was a bit bland for me tasty. Staff was efficient, very busy but we had coffee refills regularly. Homey atmosphere. A little rough looking on the outside. And if you're into pigs everywhere you'll love it. We would definitely stop there again.

My family has had many Saturday morning breakfasts at the Dixie Pig over the years. When I worked night shifts at the hospital, I even ate a cheeseburger there at breakfast time, so you can get a "lunch" during breakfast hours. My husband and son think everything at the Dixie Pig is good, but they tend to order two things:... More

The wait on Saturday morning was only about 10 minutes but I would have waited an hour for those biscuits!! Our waitress, Lori, was smiling and always ready with the coffee refill. The food was yummo! Crispy bacon, sweet ham, perfect scrambled eggs and two light fluffy biscuits. A Southern girls dream and I ate them both!!

This is what I call a thr8wback to a diner of years past. The food was good and the place was clean. The people there were regulars and were friendly. I believe this is the oldest restaurant in Abilene.

Food is wonderful! Old fashioned diner-type food. All recipes are homemade. Can't go wrong here! It's a very "local" place, lots of regulars. Friendly waitresses! YOU MUST GO!! Breakfast is wonderful!

Since 1931 the Dixie Pig has been starting the day for Abileneans with an affordable hearty breakfast, and kept them rolling with stick-to-your-ribs (and hips) lunches. Good food at a fair price is hard to find these days, but the Dixie Pig still delivers. Aside from the blue plate specials, here's a retro campy diner sure to put a smile... More

Visited the Dixie Pig for breakfast. The prices are very reasonable and the service was fast. Be prepared, cash only. I would definitely return for breakfast in the future.

If you can get up early enough, and you want some cheap homemade breakfast food, this is the place. Personally, i think it has a little too much hype. I wouldn't call it amazing, but it's pretty good.

I have been coming to Abilene for 18 years. Same time in January every year. This year I came in a day early on my own mainly because I wanted to branch out and have something other than the delicious Texas Barbeque. Dixie Pig as I understand has been around since 1941 in this location. It has all the atmosphere... More

this is an older establishment. Served troops from Camp Barkeley in WW II. Good eats and reasonable!
