5th time at Abilene location and 4th bad experience. There won't be another. I never get cold but the area we were seated in was probably in the low to mid 60s. My wife and kids were freezing and I was cold as well. We...got seated quickly and drinks came quickly and that is all the good we experienced. The appetizer took 30 minutes to come out and the cheese was barely warm. We were there a full hour and 15 minutes before the entrees were served and that was just short of a disaster. My daughters grilled cheese had the consistency of a scouring pad or Captain Crunch cereal and the cheese was burnt on the inside. How does that even happen? The temp of her sandwich and fries was room temperature at best.. My potato and my red beans and rice were hot but my tenders were COLD to the touch and the shrimp were not really even warm and they felt weird. My wife's tenders and broccoli casserole were both barely warm, not hot...not cold. My son's tenders and red beans and rice were the only meal served that was edible. The server came by and asked how it was and offered to get the manager. 10 minutes later, she came back by and asked if he had been by to speak with us...that was a NO. He started walking our way as she was there so she walked away. He stopped at one of the server stations and messed with the computer and then went and talked with the people right behind us. It was a personal conversation so we could tell he knew them. A few minutes later (about 15 minutes after we requested to speak with him) he asked how we were. I explained ALL that was wrong and he apologized and said he could have it re-made...we weren't willing to wait since we were already there an hour and a half and it wasn't that busy . So then he said he would take care of our bill and gave us a card for a free queso and chips for next time. I can get that by joining the club at the bottom of this page. It really felt insincere and made me more frustrated with the entire situation.More

Cheddars should check their competitor's food right down the street (Cotton Patch). Unlike Cheddars, Cotton Patch's food is prepared fresh & served hot. I've given Cheddars 4 chances to prove me wrong, but every time I've been the food is served lukewarm like it's been...prepared hours before & put under a warmer. There won't be a 5th time for me.More

Abilene finally gets a quality restaurant. I enjoy Cheddars. The food and service is always good. I had the country fried steak, and it was too large for me. Tasted great, though and it will be my lunch tomorrow. Our server was very good.

Food was very good. We had the salmon which was cooked perfect. They brought out croissants dribbled with butter before the meal. Waiter was helpful and efficient. We will eat here again.

Cheddar's is one of our go to restaurants in Abilene and when we travel. We have only had five star food and service from multiple visits here in Abilene. Last night we returned from a trip and decided to eat at Cheddar's before heading home....We arrived at 8:15 PM ab we greeted in the expected friendly manner and seated promptly. Our server took our drink order, returned with the drinks and took our order. We indicated one check for the table. We continued to talk about our trip with our friends. Kitchen staff delivered our order to the table. I had order a Caesar Salad and Chicken Tender Parmesan. I enjoy eating my salad before the meal and no salad had been served. The individual told me they could prepare a salad, but I did not want to eat my salad as I enjoyed my main entree. My wife ordered the Grilled chicken salad. As she took her first few bites, she discovered the grill chicken was cold and the lettuce frozen. By this time our served had come to our table apologized for the missing salad. She was so busy, she forgot to order the salad. We reported the problem with my wife's salad and she said she would send a manager to our table. In the meantime the rest of our party were enjoying their meals. My sister ordered the Grilled Buffalo Wing Wrap which is a large portion. She shared it with my wife who enjoyed it very much. The manager arrived, told us she had adjusted our check for the missing Caesar salad and sat down asking about the chicken salad. She was surprised to find the lettuce frozen and chicken cold. She took immediate action to correct our final check. These things happen, after all, the server and kitchen staff are human and make mistakes. We will return again to see if the manager treated this incident a a positive learning experience for Cheddar's.More

I had the wonderful pot pie and my wife had the fried chicken breast and both food and service were excellent along with the atmosphere and complete dining experience. Met the manager who made sure we left with a smile on our faces. Almost forgot...we had the Awesome chocolate cake and ice cream with all the wonderful chocolate syrup and cherries and whipped cream and was to die for!!! Highly recommended!!!More

Excellent visit with good food and even better service. Cheddars has always been a favorite and the one in Abilene is a good example of why.

Abilene folks were excited for Cheddars to open. I visited one day for lunch and the food and service were good. Recently went with a group of 8....and it took forever to get our food order. Once it arrived, it was all very good...but I...have heard others complain of having to wait a long time. Our waitress, on the other hand, was awesome. Kept us laughing and even took our photo afterward since this was a birthday supper. Hopefully the longer they are here, the faster the food will be served. However, one of our group reminded us all that it is a "scratch" kitchen, so maybe they had to catch that salmon or chicken! :)More

While on a shopping trip in Abilene recently I stopped for lunch at Cheddars, and found it to be quite good. It was alive with chatter, loud music, and activity. It seemed like a good place for the younger set. Somehow I was distracted when...it was time to check out and lost my keys and credit card there. Fortunately, my keys were recovered at the desk, but I did not ever find my credit card. I probably dropped it, and someone may have picked it up. The food was great, and I would recommend it.More

This restaurant is new in Abilene. We tried it when new (about 1 month ago) and maybe they had not had time to get the kinks worked out. We decided to give the another try and I guess they’ve had time now to get it...unkinked. I deleted my old review and here goes for the new one. We arrived at 1pm on a Monday and were promptly seated, then greeted promptly by our server, Carly. They claim their food is scratch made. Our appetizer was the cheese fries, which were really great. Wife ordered the cornmeal breaded whitefish and I ordered the chicken tenders w/ honey bbq hot sauce and fried shrimp. The food was fresh, the cocktail sauce and tartar sauce was most definitely scratch made as was the honey hot sauce on the tenders. The Caesar salad was very nice with fresh grated parmesan cheese. The fresh buttered honey bread roll was also a highlight. Our server was on point and on time. She turned our appetizer order in and then timed our entree order where we had time to enjoy our appetizer before receiving our entree orders. She was perfect! Super impressed with the look and feel of the restaurant itself, the food was excellent, and the service spot on. So very glad we gave them another try. We’ll be back soon!More
