The food was overpriced with average seafood, my wifes grouper was not fresh. The slaw wasnt tasty, the fries were room temperature. Our waitress was not very attentive.

At The Aiken Fish House, my husband and I sat at the bar, Dana waited on us, and we had amazingly delicious Gulf oysters and Firecracker Shrimp! When I eat shrimp, I usually taste a kind of unpleasant, “mineral” taste. These Firecracker Shrimp had none...of that! They were savory and seasoned perfectly. My husband also had the trigger fish sandwich. Neither of us had ever had trigger fish; it was so good! We highly recommend it! We had four sides: sweet potato, cheese grits, collard greens, and red beans and rice. Each one was great by itself, but the collard greens and red beans and rice together was scrumptious! Dana recommended that, and she was spot on. The beer was cold, the conversation was friendly. We really enjoyed The Aiken Fish House.More

Great service. Low Country Boil and Fish and Chips were very good. Food portion size was comensorate with the price. Better than Red Lobster, lower in price.

In town for the Masters and we stayed at a hotel within walking distance to the Aiken Fish House. Went to dinner about 8:15p on Thursday night. The place was very busy, which we expected. We were seated immediately. The restaurant kitchen (and bar) closes at...9p but our waitress said we had plenty of time. She was terrific all night. I had eaten enough pimento cheese sandwiches at the Masters that I wasn't real hungry. Just ordered a dozen steamed oysters. They were good both size wise and taste wise. Cocktail sauce was good. My buddy had a bigger appetite and order the pick 3 catch combo platter with grouper, trigger fish and blackened scallops. They were all perfectly cooked. He got them with fries and cole slaw. The fries tasted like they were fresh made in house. During our visit the chef came out and walked around the restaurant. We talked with him for a few minutes. Very friendly. We told him his food was spot on and looked to come back again, hopefully when we play Palmetto Golf Club. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.More

Generally this place has been great but not tonight. The special was gumbo. Portion size was a small bowl wit lots of rice, maybe 2 shrimp and a few slices of sausage. Not worth $18.

The atmosphere reminded us of the fresh-off-the-boat places at the coast of South Carolina. Food was offered with a fine variety (grilled, blackened, fried, etc.) and was absolutely delicious. My young granddaughter tried gator tail and loved it. Service was excellent and though we did...not partake, the choices for bar drinks was better than one would expect. Service was EXCEPTIONAL! We will be back!More

We always celebrate by taking our grandkids out to eat on their last day of school. They LOVE crablegs so we wanted to take them somewhere they could get them. Aiken Fish house shows them on the menu as an add on to their low...country boil. Well, they didn't have crab legs, and they no longer have conch fritters (my favorite) , and they didn't have she crab soup, also listed on the menu. This was an hour after they opened. Of what we were able to order, my husband said his oysters were very dry. On his plate it didn't even look like a breaded oyster and they didn't even have the texture of an oyster. He said the fries were fine. My daughter-in-law and I both ordered the combo with blackened shrimp and crab cake. The shrimp were fine, but the crab cake was undercooked and doughy with no flavoring and negligible crab. I only ate a couple bites. The salads were fine. My son ordered the shrimp tacos. He said the shrimp in them was good but they were topped with just plain lettuce and such. He said they would have been MUCH better with some interesting toppings - maybe a mango salsa, some cilantro - something. The boys were so disappointed they didn't have crablegs. One ordered the low country boil and the other ordered grilled salmon. They ate theirs' without complaint, knowing that they were being treated by their grandparents. Hopefully theirs was good. The one delicious item ordered was my son's New England clam chowder (which he ordered when they didn't have she crab soup). He gave me a spoonful and it was really yummy. Our bill for lunch for six people was $141.00 with tip with 4 waters, 2 teas, no desserts. Totally not worth it. We won't be back.More

Heard about the Aiken Fish House from some friends so we made the trip from Orangeburg. Well worth the hour drive. We ordered the seafood platter for two. We were served well within the time for fresh fried fish. Oysters, scallops, shrimp, clam strips served...on a bed of some of the best french fries. Nice thin batter all cooked just right. More than enough for two. You won’t leave hunger for sure. Service was great. We had beer on the table within a few minutes of sitting down. We’ll make the trip again and try something new from their menu.More

We were arriving in Aiken st about 8 pm on a Friday night, after flying into Augusta from our Colorado home. We called several restaurants in Ailen on the way, but many were closed or closing. Aiken Fish greeted us pleasantly on the phone, informing...us that they close at 10 pm. The place was nearly full of diners, but the service was ptompt and efficient. The food (raw oysters, the fried fish and shrimp basket, chocolate cake and Key Lime pie) was all great. Hush puppies were among the best I ever had. Lightly breaded shrimp was also outstanding. The locals we talked to referenced Red Lobster as an inferior standard of quality. We agree!More

The Aiken Fish House is honestly one of our favorite restaurants, and we are never disappointed until last night. One of the menu items we love the most are the Conch Fritters, and they are no longer on the menu. WHAT? that is one of...the most popular items.....super disappointed. But if you don't care about Conch Fritters, everything else is amazing, including the friendly wait staff.More

Only some of the food was terrible - some of it was good! Had we received the food when it was hot, it might have been better. Went with a party of 8. Had raw oysters appetizer and they were good! Nice brine and large...sized. Ordered dinner - half of our party was served, 10 mins later 3 more people got their food and then 5 mins after that the last person got theirs. I had salmon and the taste was good, it was just cold when I got it. Meanwhile the sweet potato I ordered was gross. It was molten hot and overcooked to the point of it being watery and mushy. Had a terrible flavor - obviously had been sitting in a crockpot or something similar for way too long. One member of our group has a shellfish allergy. The waitress was careful to let the kitchen know and she stressed to the diner that she would not be able to the eat the hush puppies because they were cooked in the same grease as the fried shrimp - then served her a hamburger with fries and 2 hush puppies on side. SMH? With so many other good options in Aiken, I’d skip this place if you have a party of more than 2 people.More

I want to like this place and I want them to succeed but I am always disappointed. We live right around the corner and love their tap beer selection but unfortunately their food is lacking. We were excited to try their new fish and chips...option...don't bother. Two tiny strips of fish with a really thick rock hard batter for $15. Come on a fish house should do much better. The only items I would recommend is their fish taco or fish bites (used to be grouper bites so that is now questionable). In addition the serving size of the fish bites is about half of what it was when they first opened. Was also not impressed with the seafood platter...not very tasty. We have been happy with the serving staff but I feel they r almost embarrassed by the food. And don't get the oysters....tiny and not even very tasty. So if you want a good fish dinner I suggest you go around the corner to Locals. Note the pic attached was taken after eatng one bite from each of the filets. You can see how small they were and the thick hard batter.More
