This is by far my hubby and I favorite place to have breakfast when we are in town. You must sit at the counter to watch and listen to the cook. Not only is the food good, but you don't pay extra for the entertainment. Staff are a hoot!

Nothing fancy here, just good breakfast food and lots of it. Expect some friendly banter from your waitress, that is just part of the experience at Tom & Joes. If you are thin skinned you better stay home. If you like the experience of friendly light conversation you will feel right at home.

Tom and Joe's is an institution in Altoona. From the original decor to the staff you'll know you're in for an authentic breakfast or lunch with the best home fries in town.

One of Altoona's most go to spots. It does have a legit breakfast. History laden. The staff comes off as rude that is just part of their schitcht.

This 3 generation restaurant is a gem. The food was outstanding and service was very good. There were 4 people in our party and all were very satisfied with their meals. Kim our waitress; was very good and a hoot to talk with. If you're looking for a 5 star meal in a 5 star atmosphere; this is not the... More

Not only good food and service, the entertainment can't be beat. A little noisy but as orders are called out and food pickup announced makes it an experience.

Went there with friends for breakfast. The food was great and the price was low. Recommend this as a downtown Altoona must stop for breakfast.

80+ year old still family-run restaurant in your traditional Diner style. The jukebox even works. Great food and service that's sure to give you stories to tell and keep you coming back for more.
