Visited at the recommendation of a friend. We were apprehensive when we stepped up onto the run down porch. The inside is quaint and has lots of history in it's decor. Our waitress as really sweet and recommended many dishes to help with our dinner choices. Excellent barbecue and great portions.

When we first pulled up, we were not sure if the place would be appropriate for the kids. The outside looks a little run down, and it has a dive/biker bar look to it. But we decided to give it a shot anyway, since we were starving, and were glad we did. The staff was very friendly, and they do... More

The food is good, the service is good. It's a little dive bar-y atmosphere but sometimes that is just what you want. BBQ is usually a good choice for someone with Celiac disease and I will say I have never gotten sick from eating there. But we stopped on the front porch for a smoke before we left and were... More

This is really local color and your first impression is that the place is run down, but the ambiance is intriguing and even charming. Appetizers were adequate and included fired pickles, alligator, onion rings and green tomatoes. The Gumbo is spiced perfectly and the BBQ is the best around. The ribs are some of the best we've had in the... More

We went here on a Sat. night, and luckily we went about 5:30 PM. Shortly after, there was a line forming, as there always is. I had a pulled pork sandwich which came with fries. You add your own barbq sauce. My fellow-diner ordered the pulled pork platter. His serving looked a little sparse. I forget what side he got,... More

Went to dinner here on a recommendation of some co workers that had gone. This is a bar restaurant. Everything is smoked. Ambience was good. Typical historical roadhouse, very nice good historical pictures. Food, appetizers were really good. Got gator bites and smoked chicken wings. I really enjoyed the wings. For an entree, I got the brisket. It was good,... More

Huge BBQ fan, and when traveling, always seek out the local BBQ joint. I really wanted to like this place, and it was fine, just nothing spectacular. Really cool atmosphere, waitress was attentive and knew her stuff. Pulled pork was fine. Decent portion size, sweet fries were good and baked beans were likely out of a can (Campbell's?) The two... Been there a few times...Food is ok...nothing spectacular. Service is hit and miss. Facility is way too small to have bands or other entertainment even though they do and pack em in when they do. There was a fist fight going on in the parking lot on our way out...pretty much explains the atmosphere. Only thing missing was the heavy... More

The restaurant was full, being a Saturday night. We all ordered ribs, some people having a half rack some a 1/4, depending on the other sides available. For those of us that had the 1/4, they were very fatty & little meat. The people that did order a half rack, they were full ribs and meaty looking.

The food is decent but the staff makes this a horrible experience. Went there and the waitress gave us our bill but charged our card for the table behind us. She said she couldn't void the transaction as is already went through. This time we waited for 10 minutes and they sat a couple that came in long after us.... More
