Amuse is the kind of restaurant that will reseat you if you don't like the table they show you first; they will hurry you up if you need to make a quick dinner; they will slow things down if you are obviously in no hurry. They fill your glass with water just the right degree of chill. They feed you... More

Because Ashland attracts visitors for its plays, it should be no surprise that it can sustain a sophisticated little restaurant like Amuse. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is that of a Parisian bistro. Probably the best food in Ashland.

We visit this restaurant every time we visit Ashland and have never been disappointed. And this was no exception. We began by sharing an arugula salad. I had the salmon and my husband chose the gnocchi. I don't think I have ever had more perfectly prepared salmon and asked our server if the chef had used a sous vide to... More

Each year that we visit Ashland, we head for Amuse. Welcoming staff, good food & nice atmosphere. We sit in "the Side room", a bright, cheery room facing the street. We started with excellent salads, I had the rib eye steak which was done perfectly on the charcoal grill, husband had the pork loin, equally delicious. Waiter recommended a good... More

So-so service, for example, had to ask twice for our wine. A bit hard to hear, somewhat noisy. Reservations required. Small and popular. Downtown.

On a recent visit, Amuse was our last dinner of the vacation, and it turned out to be the best among a host of other wonderful dinners around town. I had a halibut dish, followed by a huckleberry pie & ice cream dessert --- wonderful. The food and service are always top notch, though I have never been a big... More

We had a great dinner at Amuse. Pickled mushroom/carrot salad, prawns with romesco, port loin, game hen, raspberry pavlova, huckleberry tart. What could be better?

We were in Ashland recently (September, 2016) to attend performances at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. One evening before a performance we ate at Amuse and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. It is a small, well-managed establishment that is quiet, to boot! Our appetizers were Grilled Prawns with Romesco Sauce that were flavorful and perfectly cooked and a... More

Really well-prepared food - grilled prawns with smokey white beans and delicious aioli, superb arugula salad, succulent pork chop, exquisite wild huckleberry tarte - plus a fine glass of Lemelson Pinot noir made for a delightful evening. Good service, not unduly pricey for a dinner of this quality. Only downside: a couple third-rate complimentary cookies at the very end, when... More

We go there every year when we come up from San Francisco for theater. We think it's the best restaurant in town and last week's meal didn't disappoint. It's very close to the theaters. The menu is not large, but everything we tried was good. We'll be back.
