Best Customer service and Take Out food ever!

We were going to spend the night in Ashland, and all outdoor (Covid) seating was booked. We decided to call an order in to Thai Pepper, which has been a favorite in the past. When calling in we spoke to Alli, who was hands down the most pleasant and helpful staff person we've ever interacted with at any establishment! She was not only knowledgable about all of the entrees and appetizers, but gave us honest feedback and recommendations for a truly wonderful dining experience (even though it was take out) This is an employee who they should be sure to hold on to. She is the kind of employee who really makes a difference! Thank you Alli, for making our Date night Amazing!! David & Steph

Great find in downtown Ashland

Spending several days in Southern Oregon with friends on a golf outing; this was easily the best dinner we’ve had so far. Pad Thai chicken is kind of a cliché order at a Thai restaurant, but this one definitely did not disappoint. It was sizzling hot when it came to the table and had a great blend of flavors. The chicken was tender and the spice blend was spot on. My friend had a daily special of lamb chops that were done to a perfect medium rare and the seasoning was a great blend of savory soy and other sweet flavors. On top of the excellent food, our server, Allie, made our meal even more special. She was welcoming, helpful and completely attentive without ever hovering over us. My friend picked up the tab so I don’t know how much he tipped, but whatever he left couldn’t have been enough to thank her for the great level of service. Don’t miss this place next time you come to Ashland.

a covid meal

I chose the thai noodles with shrimp and peanut sauce because there weren’t many choices for meals with peanut sauce Maybe no others. The noodles were heavy and dried at the edges of the plate (i.e. inedible). The sauce was nothing special but the spinach was good. The shrimp had tails on and were covered with sauce. Unless you want to eat shells, you have to get sauce all over your fingers to take them off. There were six medium shrimps which is enough for me but might not be for a big man. On the plus side, the patio seating was pleasant on a warm evening and the staff was polite. I was very disappointed in the food...for a tastier meal, I could deal with a rude waiter😂

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER, READ!

So earlier this month I journeyed to Ashland with my 14 year old Miniature Italian Greyhound who is my lifemate. I stayed for 3 nights. Come dinnertime it was my job to be creative and find a meal for her. The second night there I went to one restaurant looking for a plain, grilled chicken breast. They told me they seasoned theirs with sricacha which won't do at all. They suggested I veture to the lower level of the building they were in which housed Thai Pepper restaurant. And so I did. I walked in, explained to the very nice and cheerful lady at the counter what I was looking for. She checked with the chef and said they could accomodate my beloved pet''s needs. When it was time to pick it up, she asked me if I'd like a little white rice as well, and I responded yes. Imagine my surprise, when, expecting a bill for $10 or so.....(Ashland has lots of uber-chic restaurants which charge accordingly) the bill for this was $3.00!!! $3.00, I still can't believe it. So, Thai Pepper gets a 10 star review, not a 5 star review. THANK YOU THAI PEPPER!!!!

Peaceful setting—gourmet food

We liked their food so much that we ate dinner there 2 nights in a row. One night we chose specials on the menu, the other night from the regular menu. Both nights got to sit outside near the creek - great ambiance!

Never Again

Disappointed that I have to give even a one rating. It's not worth that.. Came in the restaurant only to have one of the staff rudely berate one of my guests. When I told her that I wouldn't tolerate that kind of behavior, she aggressively asked me to leave. Which we did. And went to the sushi place nearby and had a lovely meal with polite service. After nearly two years of lockdown, it's wonderful that they have so much business that they can afford to treat customers this way. Lots of other restaurants in town. I won't be going back.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken was perfect

So this review is actually for Billy's Fried Chicken. Thai Pepper, a long standing Ashland restaurant took over the art gallery space above it and turned it into a fast casual Billy's Fried Chicken. The 2 restaurants share a Bar as they are owned by the same owner. The classic buttermilk fried chicken was great -crispy outside, moist on the inside. I was astounded to get lovely fried chicken in a tourist town. We had Truffle fries and coleslaw as sides. There was also Korean style chicken and Japanese style chicken which I will try on my next visit! Recommended for a quick reasonably priced quick meal. Also there was a lively bar full of twenty something locals. SErvice was attentive, a tad slow but that's normal Ashland time.

Excellent and varied meal

There were 5 of us with a cancelled theater. We each ordered a dish with a few appetizers. Dishes were varied from a red curry seafood special(lots of seafood!) to crispy spicy fish and drunken noodles. All were really good and all tasted different.

Thai lover's find

I'm a big fan of Thai. Generally in an unfamiliar town I can count on Thai to be at least good. This is one of those very good ones that if a Thai lover you don't want to miss. In the center the main drag in Ashland. Great service.

Great Food and Service!

The food at Thai Pepper is excellent. Full of flavor, with each dish different than the other. Definitely recommend the Tofu appetizers with peanut sauce. Service was super friendly. We appreciated the all vegetarian menu.

Yummy Thai food

We had dinner at this restaurant that was recommended by the owner of Coolidge House B&B. What a great recommendation. It was awesome! Thanks Jordan for steering us to this place. It was delicious! Every plate we ordered.

Overpriced and flavorless

Ridiculously overpriced , overly salted (heavy on the fish sauce) mediocre flavor . I don’t know. Maybe we ordered poorly? Drunken noodles (an enormous bowl of heavily sauced noodles with a hint of spice and zero flavor), chicken satay (very dry chicken drenched I overly sweetened peanut sauce ( and a bowl of “Tom yum” (which consisted of two prawns, raw tomato slices with peels still attached, three mushrooms heads, a few snow peas- horrible) I rarely leave reviews , but this meal was such a disappointment and really expensive. For those prices I was expecting something flavorful and unique. The cocktail and Thai ice were very good, hence the two stars.

Simply the best+

Had spring rolls, cucumber salad, cashew chicken with vegetables and Asian margaritas. The food was farm fresh and superb. The service was really fantastic, my waitress was Ally! :D
