We come to Ashland for many years and eat at many places but always dine at the pear less for one great meal . Good local wine list . Great patio for an evening summer experience . Service staff also good.

We like to spurge once during our annual trip(s) to Ashland, while eating at quick favorites between matinees and evening performances the rest of the time. Last year and this, Peerless was our splurge choice. You could spend more money at a restaurant in Ashland, but we love coming here. It is relaxing, with lovely views into the gardens, attentive... We ate at Peerless before the theatre. It is a large restaurant with a lovely outdoor area. Service and food was top rate. I had one of their flat breads and crab cakes, that were too rate. One of my dishes was "less than par" and they quickly removed it and took off the bill. I'd go back. Next time... More

Well we came back after several years and have been coming here several times over many years. We reserved ahead but nobody greeted us when we arrived and there was an uncomfortable wait before sonebody finally arrived to seat us. We expected a big crowd on a Shakespeare night but the place was sparsely populated. Even so service was slow... More

Back in February, my sweetheart & I had an impressive, memorable dinner at the Peerless. Based on that, when we wanted to take 2 friends out for a special thank you dinner...we chose the Peerless. Last Wednesday night, we had cocktails, appetizers & dinner for 4. My friends professed to enjoy the Flatiron steaks. I had the Russian Borscht which... More

Dear Guest, I am very sorry that you did not have a positive experience during your latest visit. Regarding the soup, I can understand it not being what you expected, as it was a Russian Ice Box Soup (buttermilk and vodka based) rather than another of our favorite Russian-inspired soup Borscht, which is a generally a beet-based soup. We try... More

It's listed in a 1000 places to see in Ashland for good reason. Every dish had a unique and tasty surprise. Even the chicken was prepared in a flavorful way we hadn't experienced before. The service was prompt and friendly. Suggest going, early 5-5:30, then going to one of the Plays/shows at the Shakespeare Festival. Sweetie and Rascal Pants.

Couldn't think of a better place to spend an anniversary. Outdoors by the fountain with a glass of fine Napa Valley wine, beautifully created and delicious fare. Great, personable and knowledgable waiter. A perfect evening for sure...

This place is like a hidden gem on Southern Oregon culinary map. I love the old-fashioned style of service where your main task is to relax, eat and drink rather then looking on your watch with hope that your waiter/ waitress is going to show up soon. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely table inside but right by the window. My husband and I are not big eaters and we usually come home with left-overs. However, on vacation we avoid that. So we were pleased to see that the menu offers small plates as entrees. Not Tapas, just a reduced size. Wine list is amazing. I asked for a... More

A great location - easy to find just off the main boulevard of Ashland..lots of dark wood, tables arranged so as to create an illusion of privacy but cozy too...great bar, innovative well-prepared food and very knowledgeable staff. They were also helpful and accommodating to my vegetarian friend. I look forward to my next visit.
