Its been several years since I've had such wonderful sushi! We were so happy we stopped in for lunch! We ordered "The One" sake, which I highly recommend, extremely smooth and served cold. We also shared steamed gyoza, albacore sashimi, spicy salmon roll, yellowtail scallions...roll, salmon roll, tuna roll and a cucumber roll. All of it was well prepared and fresh! Our server, Melissa was a joy to be around and her customer service is impeccable! Truly can't say enough positive things about this place! We can't wait to come back on our next visit to town!! ❤️More

My husband and I ate lunch at Umami twice. Both times the owner, Boone, was our sushi chef. It was an incredible experience. The Kobe beef nigiri was perfect and absolutely melted in our mouths. The scallops were presented beautifully and were delicious. The forbidden...roll was fun and creative. My favorite dish has always been the ikura (salmon roe) topped with tamago (raw quail egg). It was the best I've ever had. Everything was so fresh. I would travel to Ashland again just to go to this restaurant!More

Enjoyed our meal and our waiter. The food was decent but nothing special. Part of our order was lost or forgotten by the kitchen. Took a while to get it and really wasn’t worth waiting for. Ultimately, it served the purpose and it was convenient...to the theatre. Otherwise, you can probably do better.More

I ate way too much here. The j pop jalapeño and the avocado bomb would have been enough. Fresh, spicy and large portions, these starters were amazing. We also ordered a nigiri and sushi combination expecting around nine pieces. There were at least 15 on...the platter. The fish was so soft and tender. One in our party ordered pad Thai and it was very unusual. I thought it tasted like tomato paste but someone else thought it was sweet. It wasn’t bad - it was just different. They Have a good selection of sake, including warmed, room temperature and chilled. The one downside was the service, which was a little off. They seated us quickly and took our order rapidly. The food came up quickly but then we were neglected and not offered additional beverages and they never refilled the water. This was a little painful given the spiciness of some of our food. We eventually had to flag down the waitress to get our check. A minor inconvenience. Handicapped accessible.More

Umami is perfect for dining before going to the theater. The Elizabethan theater is just steps away. Our service was timely and pleasant. Thank you, Rebecca. The sushi samplers were delicious and portions were generous. Our samplers went well with a glass of chardonnay.

The service here has been spotty, but the sushi is well worth the wait. If you have theatre tickets, just allow a little extra time, as the food is well worth it, and you can’t beat the location. Just ask about the back door out...to the theaters!More

We left our hotel and found this place just down the street. It was a terrific find. The food was tasty and plentiful. When I asked if a dish – which was labeled as hot – could be made without being hot – the answer...was yes. The service was very good too. Everything we asked for was done easily. The menu has all kinds of dishes on there – you don’t have to have Sushi if you don’t like it. If you in town and want good Asian cuisine – this place is affordable and worth the stop. Try it – recommended.More

The restaurant is close to the OSF venues down town so is very convenient. We ate there after seeing an afternoon performance and arrived around 5:30 PM. We were seated immediately and our server showed as soon as we were seated. The menu is fairly...extensive and the sushi menu offers the usual favorites and some different items as well. My wife had the Mt. Ashland roll, which had an interesting presentation, and I had the Crunchy Tiger Hidden Dragon. We shared a California roll. All were fresh, and quite tasty. We will eat here again our next trip to Ashland.More

If you're going to a show and need to be at the theater at a certain time, a reservation is a good idea. We called and I don't think they have an online reservation system.
