Haven’t been here in years & had expected it to be as wonderful as in years past. These people can cook STEAK! Food was great as usual. Unfortunately, we sat there for 20-30 minutes before got our ordered cocktails; had to ask 3 times for...water; when our food was delivered (not by our waiter), we had to ask for silverware/napkins & it took him 10 minutes to find some! Not sure we’ll be back...More

When Smithfield’s was sold we were wondering if it would maintain it’s high standards. No problem. The folks at the Victorian Inn across the street are pros and know what they are doing. The brisket is exceptional and melts in your mouth. The other dishes...are equally excellent. Desserts are terrific ( creme brûlé) . The outdoor dining area is very welcoming and children and occasional well behaved dogs are also welcome. It is definitely a top tier restaurant in this area. Recommended highly.More

We have been here a half-dozen times on our visits to Ashland and can always depend on a nice meal, generally meat-oriented :-). In these COVID times, the fairly spacious patio out back is nice to have, too. Well located in the center of town...... a recommended go-to spot for us!More

Devin, our server, ensured that everything was exactly right. All food was prepared as ordered. New wine glasses came with each bottle of wine. Could not have been better.

It’s easy to get scallops wrong, but mine had perfect texture and were absolutely delicious. My wife’s steak was similarly swoon-worthy, and the lemon tart we shared for dessert was among the best ever. Highly recommended!

Three of us had brunch here today. Been here previously when it was under different owners. Two of us ordered the Smithfield breakfast, another the frittata. The Smithfield was absolute garbage: * Eggs hammered, cooked fast, bottom looked like a tennis court. Twice, because I...sent mine back. You know you are doomed when a kitchen does not know how to cook eggs. * Sausage: horrid. Also hammered, overcooked, tasted like unseasoned hamburger meat. * Collard greens: greasy * Potato pancake: greasy, heavy, saturated with duck fat. A 1000 calorie pancake not worth eating. * Coffee: lukewarm * Bacon: the only thing on the plate worth eating. Save yourself. Avoid this place.More

Small, charming restaurant that serves one of the best burgers I've ever had. Limited operating hours but worth checking out.

Our new go to place when in Ashland! From beginning to end this was a great experience. I had a new york steak cooked perfectly and my wife had the salmon and also raved about it. Service was great and restaurant is beautiful.

The curry salmon special with rice and squash was very good. My wife had the 6 ounce steak and was ashamed to dip it the béarnaise sauce it was excellent on its own. The season fries with the steak were also excellent.

Smithfields is terrific. I usually don't eat meat except chicken. However, I was craving a pork chop. The pork chop was just superb as were the side dishes: slow roasted carrot with hummus and then creamed spinach. The people who work there are efficient and...friendly. It's just a few blocks from the Shakespeare Festival. Delicious. I will definitely make it part of our "repertoire" for annual trips to Ashland.More

Hi, HazelHB. I remember that it was pretty warm the last time that we were there. I don't think that they have A/C, and if they do, it's not a powerful unit. Hope this helps!
