We were recommended this restaurant by a friend when we were in Ashland. After a few other COVID restaurant experiences (did not really feel safe) we opted for Take Out. When I arrived to pick up the food I was impressed by their care to...detail for making the restaurant a safe dining experience. Dividers between every table. Well done. We got 4 different Paneer's, naan and a beautiful basmati rice. Very flavorful. Would go back.More

First off, the restaurant is very nice. Clean. Great ambiance. It seems their COVID protocol for in restaurant dining is top notch. However, regarding the food, I told my wife the green chutney dip for the poppadom appetizer was off and that was a bad...sign. It was. All the fishes’ flavors were a bit off, lacking the great characterister Indian flavors. Big disappointment. Maybe try Sesame but I guess not true Indian.More

Yum! Our first visit here and very pleased. I enjoyed the Saag Paneer, veggie samosas, naan bread, basmati rice, and a glass of delicious Oregon wine from RoxyAnn wine. Very clean restaurant and excellent service. Fun downtown location on Water Street by the creek.

Waiter unfriendly right from start. I've been eating and making Indian food for 30 yrs , and this was awful ! If you know Indian food you will agree. What a disappointment Would not recommend.

Living in Seattle we've become big fans of Indian food and were looking forward to eating at this restaurant at the end of a long road trip. The buffet wasn't open while we were there for dinner, so we selected a couple of dishes to...share off the menu. While the naan and chicken vindaloo were very good, the vegetarian curry was below average, which was disappointing and surprising. The couple next to us seemed to really be enjoying their dinner and it smelled really good (some sort of grilled meat), so I'd likely give this restaurant a second chance. A good value, if you select the right dish.More

The Taj has really good food. Our meals were tasty and fresh. We also liked the staff. They were friendly and helpful. The building seems to be built into a hill. It was interesting getting to it. A very pleasant experience.

We thought 4 stars would give us some unique and tasty food. Wrong. I didn't go back for seconds on anything. There wasn't much variety in the buffet. The food was mostly just adequate. The Tandoori chicken looked so dried that I didn't even dare...try it. My partner described it as dry and tasteless.More

This restaurant is not easy to find in spite of being located downtown. nevertheless, if one likes Indian cuisine, it is worth the effort. The food is good and the service is friendly. I will return.

Every year for the last 5 years we plan on at least one night's dinner at Taj Indian as the price is reasonable and the food is excellent. We continue to order the mixed grill and an eggplant dish which we share.
