Sunday evenings are open to the public, so we dropped in for dinner after 18 holes of golf. Sat at the bar due to distanced and limited seating, and really enjoyed ourselves! First off, the rolls and slices of bread are delicious! Since I knew I would be getting a dessert to make up for my poor golf performance, I stick with ice water for my drink although the bar stock was impressive. I ordered the Gorgonzola Filet cooked medium with the pre chosen roasted mushrooms and whipped potatoes, my husband ordered the chicken piccata. Let me tell you, my filet was seasoned and cooked to perfection! I don’t often order filet but that was better than any I’ve ever had before! Hubster really enjoyed his chicken as well. It was all so good, so I got my coconut cream pie to go. Oh wow, it was divine and unique, even for coconut cream pie! We were so glad we came here to celebrate our anniversary, it made things very special.

While staying at Shangri-La Resort for our anniversary we made reservations for dinner and took the shuttle bus from the resort to the restaurant. The was a very nice place to celebrate our anniversary. The Prime rib was amazing. I highly recommend this place if you are staying at the resort or in the area. The food is amazing.

Our party enjoyed the beautiful setting with cocktails and wine. Service was excellent but the food was not over the top. My pork medallions were overly salted but presented in an attractive manner. Of my experiences in the Grand Lake area this would be the top rated restaurant.

Caveat: Let the diner beware of a fine dining restaurant that is open for dinner on weekends only. What top chef would work and get paid 3 days a week?
Our previous dining experiences at this restaurant had all been acceptable and I had one of the best steaks ever last year. The Summit has a history of inconsistency following 2 bankruptcies. We stay at Shangri La a couple of times a year, it is a beautiful Resort on Monkey Island on Grand Lake near Afton, OK. The Summit is part of the resort. There were so many things wrong during our last experience at the Summit that it's difficult to know where to start. We made a dinner reservation at 5 pm for dinner 2 days in advance.
When we arrived the receptionist tried to seat us in the bar with golfers who had been drinking beer all day, The restaurant opens at 5 and we were the first guests, but we only had 1 choice of a table in the restaurant. The server was new and had to ask someone else in order to answer our questions, Then she was called away for a 15-minute staff meeting while we waited. The Oysters Rockefeller were raw, slightly warm with spinach only. My fillet ordered medium was medium well, my wife's tenderloin tips were rancid, and when the 2nd fillet was brought it was even more overcooked. I gave our server $20, paid for our drinks, and left. On the way out I told the super rude female manager to cancel our reservations for the following evening.

Traveled for our 35th wedding anniversary to get away and stay at Shangri-la hotel. We were recommended The Summit Grill by the hotel and ultimately chose this restaurant to celebrate because they brag about the spectacular view. We booked the reservation far in advance and confirmed many times but once we arrived all dressed up, we were thrown up against a wall. I asked if we could have one of the many open tables with a view but the hostess told us that they were reserved for "special club members" and that we wouldn't be done in time for those people to arrive. The food was okay but we were ignored over tables of members that were more important. Nobody seemed to know it was our anniversary even though I had made a reservation for the occasion. In the end the food was good but did not overcome the snobbery and elitism that ran the joint. FYI Several tables by the window were still open when we left. Be advised that the view here is only for the locals who belong to the club and not for guests of the hotel.

this place is nice.... if you have MONEY!
i ordered the roasted chicken... the menu price is 38 bucks well if you get the pasta that comes with it. however the sides are ALA CARTE at 10 bucks each. some of the appetizers are ok. but nothing to really get excited about... I GOT the chicken and it was nothing but small piece of chicken. however the salmon was really good A plus there!
this place is kinda fancy, being on Monkey Island. The people who live there Have Money so i guess 20 or 40 bucks isnt nothing to them... i ordered the Brussels Sprouts
they were ok...but not exactly the way i liked them!

We enjoyed a cocktail at the bar before our reservations. Nice spot and great service.
Once seated, again the wait staff was fabulous(Maria, we hope you get to the water soon!).
Both our appetizers were quick to appear and tasty.
The filet I had was Top 5 of alltime for me. Cooked just right.
My wife had a delicious chicken meal.
The live pianist is a nice addition to a beautiful atmosphere. If staying at Shangri La Resort the Summit is a must to do.

Very early dinner on a Saturday. Since we were casually dressed we sat in the bar and were very glad we did. Our service from Weston was impeccable! His margarita was spot on! We had bruschetta and the oysters veracruz, again an excellent choice! Everyone was so friendly, definitely not what I expected from a high dollar golf course restaurant!

I got one of the best steaks I have had here, a filet. On our next visit, the same menu item was one of the worst. It's a great restaurant at certain times of the year, only.

We decided to eat at the Summit to enjoy better than bar food. Staff was friendly. We ended up eating at the bar because they were booked (though most tables were empty during our entire meal). I had the fried chicken, which was quite good. Others enjoyed their selections. What kept this from being a 5-star experience was it did take a long time to get our entrees, though not terrible. They did keep us stocked with bread while we waited. Nice atmosphere, and overlooks the golf course. I'd consider returning again.

My husband and I stayed at Shangri-La Resort and were looking for a place suitable for an anniversary dinner. The Summit was recommended. Upon arrival the Summit had a wonderful view from upper level of the country club. It was both quiet and classic. Our waitress was effortlessly efficient and made us feel comfortable. We ordered the pina colada coconut shrimp for an appetizer. Man! We hit the jackpot with presentation and flavors. Our main course was the surf and turf. We were equally pleased. This place was the only restaurant on Monkey Island suitable for a momentous dinner. We will go back on our next visit to Shangri-La. Note: One must be a member or a guest at Shangri-La to eat there. Reservations are available and recommended.

Steaks, seafood, and more, with a stunning view of Grand Lake. The appetizers are top notch, as are the desserts! Would love to see a return of the Chilean sea bass or halibut and some risotto or rice pilaf as a side option.
