We went on a whim to enjoy some great sea food. A local favorite since childhood. The specials posted on the board had many great selections, as well as the menu. If your in the mood for seafood, this is the best in Ashtabula. With a cozy atmossphere and attentive waitresses, dining room and service gets a two thumbs up. Fresh... More

If you like fish, this is the place to go. Never had a bad meal here and I look forward to each visit. Short of living on the east coast, it can't be beat.

The restaurant is small so if seafood/fish is on your agenda, make a Reservation! If you don't, this restaurant is well worth the wait. Generous portions, smiling, efficient servers all add to the positive rating. We will go back again...and again...and again!

The perch is fabulous!!! And, i'm not generally a fan of fish. Bravo Hilmak's!! Dessert was good too. My family from out of town ravved about it. So glad we took them there.

This is the place to go for seafood if you ask anyone from Ashtabula county. Husband and I went again this past month and we were not impressed. Average seafood and higher cost. Nothing gourmet. Basic seafood platter and we spent big $ for it. Sorry to dog this well known local institution but as 20 year Geneva residents I... More

This is the way the good restaurants used to be. The fish is fresh and the perch is wonderful. We were really pleasantly surprised by this somewhat tucked away place.

I have frequented Hil Maks for over 22 years and have never been disappointed with a meal. My favorite is the stuffed flounder along with clam chowder. It is one of the best seafood restaurants I have eaten at

Recommended by the hotel staff and didn't disappoint. However, when paying $31 for an entree, you expect excellence. We started with splitting one cup of lobster bisque and it had good flavor but no discernible pieces of lobster. We both had the crabster, which is a lump crab cake, three broiled scallops and a 5 oz lobster tail. Everything was... More

We can count on great food-consistently. My husband would go there every week, but I like a little variety. Fresh fish from the blackboard or you can order from the menu. Prices about $17 - $26. Very crowded; customers and wait staff can hardly move around the floor on a Friday evening, when we usually go. Also, parking lot pretty... More

My wife and I make special efforts to go to Hil-Mak when we are near Ashtabula. We have taken the opportunities the choose several different items and have never been disappointed. From walleye to swordfish.
