Although my family and I love Luigi’s, it is getting too expensive for takeout. A salad, 2 large pizza’s and 2 meatballs for $64???? Plus, I’m getting tired of these takeout til staff expecting tips for me to pick up my own food. I find...that incredibly rude. Ladies, you have one job that you getting paid for. This is a well-established restaurant in Akron, offering pizza and tasty, traditional Italian entrees. The portions are quite generous. The seating in several distinct rooms allows for a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. The service was attentive without being intrusive.
We came here for lunch after riding bikes on the tow path. It was one of a few places nearby that was open on a Wednesday. They are cash only. We ordered an Italian sub to share and an order of onion rings. While it...was tasty, there were only 4 onion rings on the plate for over $4! Other than that we enjoyed lunch. If you like being treated like cattle this is the spot for you. We were placed at a booth that didn’t work with our two babies. We asked for a high chair and the manager rudely said it was way too busy where we were...sitting. No “sorry” or “let me see if I can move you”. We actually had to leave. No order in seating people. You feel rushed.More
We felt more than welcomed the moment we walked inbthe restaurant. The service and food were great. Our waiter was an amazing singer, and we did not leave before he sang "Volare". Thanks for this amazing experience!
This by far has become my most favorite Italian Restaurant the food is amazing in whatever you get. And you'll want to order a pizza to go if you didn't order that for your meal either way you be amazed at how fantastic they are....Also they sell the awesome Italian homemade dressing make sure to get 1 or 2 bottles to take home. Decided to try this place before going to the baseball game.. I got there around 4pm and ordered a salad w/ cheese and small pepperoni pizza. The salad itself was good, even tho a lil pricey for its size $6. But the dressing was very...bland.. I didn’t taste any seasoning, just oil.. The pizza was good, but again lil pricey for its size.. Four slices at $10.. So in the end, would I go back there again? Yes, I would if the circumstances were right.. I wouldn’t drive a distance just to go there, nor would I wait in line to eat there.. I’ll probably return at some point when in the area, and try the pasta dinners which I hear are better..More
Came here based on other reviews. Went on a Saturday night. No wait to be seated. Waitress was just ok. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza (their large is a 12”!). Hardly any sauce on the pizza. Crust was decent and there was ample amount of...cheese. Not a great experience but not terrible. Prob wouldn’t go back or recommend.More
Hubby and I had an incredible dinner at Luigi’s. Generous portions of lasagna and baked spaghetti were piping hot and delicious. The Italian bread and antipasto salad were equally yummy. First time visiting Akron and Luigis. Although the parking area seemed quite full, we found a place in the back, unbeknownst of the parking lot in front, which had a couple more places open than in the rear. Anyway, when we walked in, the cashier...directed us to the end of the counter where our server greeted and sat us in a nearby booth. We each had a salad and split a pizza. The salads came with or without cheese (lots and lots of cheese). The pepperoni pizza was excellent (yummo). Request the cute, blonde server! She was the BEST server in all of OHIO!!! Great time!More

We stopped for an early dinner. Hope your preference is soft drinks, wine or beer as that is the extent of the beverage list. They have a pretty good menu and three of us got the lasagna and there was not much to it. a...couple noodles, sauce and cheese. Speaking of cheese, there was so much cheese on my salad that I had to dig down about 3/4 inch to get to the lettuce. Also the salad does not come with the meal. I did notice that the majority of the diners in our area ordered pizza and what I saw looked very good. I will try that the next time but am not going to make a special trip. Then when we received the bill we were instructed to pay up front; not to the waitress. When I got to the counter I was told that they do not accept credit cards, this was another negative point. I did have enough cash to cover my bill but I normally use my credit card for everything for tracking purposes at tax time.More
Luigi’s is located on what appears to be a newly renovated part of the city. Portions were good sized. Almost all the offerings were tomato-sauce based. The meat sauce on my lasagna wasn’t particularly meaty. Too much cheese for my taste but if you like...cheese you will love it. They pour a nice glass of Chianti Classico. Be aware - checks or cash only. They have an ATM in case you run short of cash.More
A good, solid place for a good meal. Lunch was quick to come after ordering. The salad was fresh and crisp. The pizza was full of cheese and served piping hot. It was quite inexpensive.
