Ken Stewart’s is and has been for a long time my favorite fine dining choice. The food, service and overall quality has and still is top notch. Definitely an expensive, but worthwhile, dining experience. Tonight was the usual special dining pleasure with our excellent server...Gary. I know I am paying top dollar, and don’t mine! However I was blown away when my bill arrived and I noticed an extra 2.5% fee attached for using a credit card. This just seems so trivial and petty for this level of dining. I mean, I’m paying $22 for a glass of Chardonnay that costs $32 retail for the entire bottle or $10 for a shot of bourbon that cost $56 retail for the entire bottle. We paid $15 for salads, $44, $44 and $85 for three entrees. This is the third time we’ve dined here since the 2.5% charge has been instituted and the first time I noticed. I usually tip 20% on the total bill, which apparently included the cost of the visa fee. I’m pretty sure that visa has always charged this fee to the restaurant and just can’t understand why the management feels this is a good business decision. Also just not sure I’m going to start carrying $350 to avoided the fee. I’m perplexed! If not for the visa fee it would have rated five stars!More

Came in Wednesday night with a party of 4. We were seated in the bar area. Everything from the service to the food and drinks was excellent. I believe our servers name was Kate or Katie. She said she’s worked there for 8 months. She...was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu and features. We enjoyed the steak tar tar, deviled eggs and calamari for apps. All were excellent. Filet and halibut for entrees. Everything cooked perfectly. Excellent experience all around and will be back soon.More

First visit and it was phenomenal! Twin filets and perch dinners were outstanding. They have raw oysters but we asked if they would cook them and they did. Best oysters ever and I’ve had a lot of oysters over the years. This is fine dining...at its best. Ready to go again!!More

We recently moved to the area and this restaurant was recommended to us at a wine dinner we attended. We were not disappointed! It was excellent. Lauren, our server, was knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. The bartender made an excellent Manhatten which preceded...an excellent meal. We both had the same thing - a trio of filets with different sauces. I couldn't pick a favorite. The house salad was not your typical house salad - it was wonderful. We'll definitely be going back.More

I enjoyed sitting at the bar here. The food was pretty good. It definitely is on the high end of prices, so my main criticism would be the value -- ie how good it was for how expensive it was.

We had a really nice experience here before attending the Akron Symphony event at EJ Thomas. We tried four starters, spicy mussels, sautéed spicy shrimp, stuffed shrimp and Buffalo cauliflower. All four were very good. We also shared a bottle of the Ken Stewart Merlot...which was good and inexpensive (one of the few inexpensive things you will find here). Next we had the house field greens salads. The salads were very good. We had three steaks, one NY strip, one large fillet, and one small fillet. We had one Cauliflower steak. These entree’s were all very nice. The large fillet was not as good as the rest. Sides included roasted Brussels sprouts, cauliflower au gratin and creamed spinach. These too were generally very good although the creamed spinach had a bread crumb topping and was not as good as the others. Service was great, the setting was great, and for sure this is a great restaurant.More

My wife and I took a friend to Ken Stewart's Grille for dinner. We usually go to Ken Stewart's Lodge because we like the Lodge and it is closer, but a neighbor said he liked the Grille more and recommended we go there. We felt...the Grille was just OK. The service was good; friendly, attentive staff. The menu had an adequate number of items to choose from. Now, the food was good, but not quite as good as what I remember getting at the Lodge. The prices are on the high side but the quality generally matched the cost. The ambience of the Grille is not as nice as it should be. It seems a bit dark and stuffy. So, we left not happy, not unhappy, just OK.More
