It is hard to tell what the clamdigger will turn out to be. It was the weeknight $49 winter go to hotel, with evenings off on providing live music and a restaurant family priced. The restaurant is no longer family priced, but the food is no better. Hard to tell what will happen, all sorts of rumors swirling around so... More

We stay at the Clamdigger every year - in fact, we stayed there years ago when it was a Ramada. The rooms are comfortable although the bathroom is a bit cramped. All rooms are oceanfront and the views are lovely. The restaurant has a somewhat limited menu but the food is good. Most is fried although you can request to... More

I was staying at the hotel and thought the special sounded good. It was a plate of assorted seafood. What a disappointment. In an area where fresh seafood abounds it tasted like it came straight from the grocer's freezer. It wasn't bad but compared with other restaurants in the area who use fresh seafood it was a big disappointment.

Good place to eat while staying at the Clam Digger. The food is tasty and plentiful, and the view of the beach and ocean is an added bonus.

We eat at this restaurant several times each year. Last year and before, the dinner was very good and reasonably priced. We just got in from eating there tonight and we are sad to say that the food was awful and the prices have increased. First, we were served lukewarm hush puppies. They would have been quite tasty if only... More

This was once the best restaurant on the Crystal Coast, but since all the changes have been made, it has gone DOWN considerably. The menu is so small, and the wait staff is almost non-existent. This is so sad. I will say, however, on my last visit, the Outer Banks clam chowder was just as good as ever.

This is not your usual hotel restaurant. The staff seems sincerely concerned about the quality of service and food. There are daily specials and breakfast is a great deal. Hats off to this location. I would recommend.

Amazing omelet and all sides were delicious. We were sad to learn that there were no longer biscuits or key lime pie, which was a draw for us to come back for dinner. We didn't.

Every time we stay at this family hotel, it is a tradition to eat at this restaurant. We never skip their amazing breakfast. Wish we could live in this hotel!

We tried this place based on tripadvisor, but will not rely on that anymore. Awful food, in fact I sent my fish tacos back and then tried a side salad that was not very appealing. Waiter was new but friendly. I had to ask for a coffee cup three times.

Thank Janell H
