The menu on their website shows oysters in a fried platter for $10.99. Menu pasted to their counter $14.99. Real price nearly $17.00. When i asked about the difference, the young man who waited on me didn't really know what to say. Into the conversation...comes a guy who is apparently in charge (manager/owner?) with an attitude stating that the menu on the board at the back of the restaurant was the correct one and I should be looking at that. I questioned the on pasted to the counter and I told in a rude tone it was obviously old. Then come the food. Thumb sized oysters cooked to death with no taste. If you like spending $21.00 for fried oysters with no taste (except for coating), served with an attitude, then this is the place for you. In the past, I have eaten there and it was good. Last 2 trips were awful. They don't get a 3rd chance.More

I had a 2 combination platter which was $16.50. It included 6 shrimp and 5 scallops ($2.50 up charge), slaw, 3 hush puppies and a bunch of fries. The food was good, but over priced for what I received. I also had to pay .20...for each extra tarter and .30 for each extra cocktail sauce. At most the meal was worth $12. On another visit before Covid-19, my family went on a Sunday for dinner. My scallops were like rubber, but the potions were larger. :-/ When I mentioned it to the staff, they just apologized and said that can happen sometimes because they have to clean the fryers and equipment on Sundays. I never write bad reviews, but felt this was noteworthy. Just like another reviewer said...I feel cheated.More

I'm so disappointed, I really wish there was an option for negative stars. I placed an order over the phone to pick up. Having never eaten at Skippers, I asked the person who took my order what to expect as far as serving sizes, and...he advised me on how to order to accommodate my family (2 flounder and large shrimp combos). I drove 40 minutes round trip to get the food, only to find when I got home that my order was missing a side item and about half of the shrimp I was told I would get. Also, there were 6 pieces of flounder as indicated, however, the pieces were about the size of a playing card, maybe a touch bigger. I called Skippers and spoke to "Mike", who first told me to bring all the food back and he would complete the order. When I explained that it was a 40 minute trip, he told me to ask for "Mike" the next time I come and he would "make it right." Once we began eating, I realized that we did not have enough food with almost half our order missing, so I called "Mike" to let him know I was on the way to pick up our food. At that time he revoked his "make it right" promise and told me the only way he would be able to correct my order was for me to bring all the food back, which I explained was not possible. I feel taken advantage of having been cheated out of about half the food I paid for and lied to about correcting the matter after having driven that far to support this business. As for the food we did receive, the shrimp were decent but very heavily breaded. The fish had very little flavor. The fried okra and tartar sauce were good. The portions were small.More

Drove by this place several times while working in the area from out of town and decided to stop for some fried shrimp and homemade onion rings. One of the best decisions for dinner without researching the restaurant I've made in long time. Absolutely delicious...and a Huge portion of food. For the money, you can't beat it!More

Our son had been wanting to try this place since moving to the area. The servings of fish were large and good. The staff was friendly.

We wanted good fish and this was recommended. Sadly my fish was over cooked but my husband's food was great. The hushpuppies were good and the staff was nice.

Consistently good fried seafood. Great fish and chips. Special fish tacos were a nice addition to the menu.

Good food. The three stars is for the price. When ordering fish tacos, I was given a choice between cod and mahi. I chose mahi, but was not told there would be an upcharge. The price is too high for a restaurant that serves food...on paper plates as well as plastic utensils. The food is tasty though.More

Shrimp basket was medicore at best. That will be my last visit. Came to have dinner with friends. I ordered the shrimp basket on a suggestion. The shrimp tasted like shrimp from the freezer section.
