Amazing food , great service, the staff was happy to see us, happy to please. Grandma pizza appetizer was fantastic and the farm to table dinner was amazing. And don’t forget the dessert! Wow! My new favorite place
Two couples went to celebrate two birthdays. None of us had been there before and we were excited after reading the reviews. Our first observation (prime time on Friday night) was that it was by far the noisiest restaurant we've ever been in. There is...a high ceiling and no soundproofing as far as I can tell. (I see in a review back in 2018 this was mentioned, with the note that the previous owner was planning to add soundproofing.) A large party at the table next to us was practically yelling at each other. Then live music started in the bar and it got worse. When we were finished eating, we decided to go somewhere else for coffee and dessert because our ears were literally in pain. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.
The food got mixed reviews. The appetizers (salad, caprese salad, calamari) were good but not great. For entrees, my husband had cioppino and again said it was good but not outstanding. Two of us had the blackened pasts with shrimp and both were disappointed. The other diner thought it was too salty; I though it had a bitter taste. I didn't complain but basically just ate the shrimp. The other diner told the waitress he couldn't eat it because it was so salty. She asked if he wanted something else and he just asked for a Diet Coke. She didn't ask about mine. No one talked to us about it and it was left on the bill.
There were other service issues but in all fairness it was an extremely busy night and I'm sure they are short-handed. Just the same, a restaurant shouldn't take customers for granted. It is usual that a manager will talk to a patron who doesn't like and doesn't eat the food.
We were looking for a local place for recurring visits, but this won't be it.More
We were able to get a reservation for a busy weekend evening to dine outside on the patio. We splurged and had everything - drinks, appetizer, entrees, and dessert. Absolutely everything was delicious. We had mussels in a curry sauce and then filet mignon for...our entrees. The service was superb and Ashley, one of the owners, was friendly and helpful. Thank you Osteria G for making a special occasion even better.More
Authentic Italian food. Most of the Italian restaurants in the area do the basics-chicken parm, francese, etc. Osteria offers a much more diverse menu. Fried calimari was so tender, it melted in your mouth and the pork osso Bucco with polenta was excellent. Service was...exception and owners Joe and Ashley spend a lot of time in the dining room and made it a point to stop by and say hello.More
We have enjoyed several meals there recently. All entrees were delicious. The fish specials were outstanding. The eggplant parm was fabulous. The shrimp with garlic and pasta also just perfect. The Burratta pesto appetizer was absolutely delicious. The owners, Joe and Ashley, makes every guest...feel special. Outdoor tables available. Our favorite local restaurant. The address says Apex, but really in the Town of Holly Springs. At least I’m claiming it to be in my hometown of Holly Springs.More
Great new place - authentic NY style Italian. Our first time there and the 6 of us truly enjoyed our dinners. The food was served hot and was excellent. The atmosphere is very cozy and they have a nice bar up front. Ample parking as...well. The service by Juliet was excellent as well. We did get to meet Joe as Linda and Ed had been there once before so he came out to our table. We will be back.More
