I went with my family and it was absolutely amazing food. I loved every single meal we asked for. Especially tuna tacos were so delicious. We also ordered carrot cake, the topping was so delicious that we asked for another piece to bring with us....All hostess and waiters were very friendly. We definitely come back as soon as possible.More

My family and I frequently visit The Provincial restaurant, and we have never been disappointed by the delicious dishes prepared by Chef Wayne, or the unique drinks created by Barmeister Jarrett. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and provides a friendly and...inviting atmosphere. The drinks and wine selection are exceptional and make it our go-to place for dining out.More

This restaurant is an unassuming gem that sometimes gets crowded out amongst the drives eating at other restaurants along Salem Street. if you’ve eaten there, though, you know they’re doing something right, and you may or may not tell your friends. The restaurant is relatively...small, and can seem crowded on a busy evening. Making a reservation will ensure you get a table when you want it. They have bars and seating both upstairs and downstairs, and it has a great communal and friendly vibe. my tip would be to ask for a booth, as I think it is a little bit quieter, and easier to have a conversation. Everything we have eaten there is delicious, but we have especially enjoyed the hanger steak, the rock shrimp tacos, and the carrot cake, which has made a carrot cake lover out of me. The menu is constantly changing, based upon availability at local farms. You can check it out in advance on their Facebook page, but the surprise upon arrival is always fun. I hate to share, because I don’t want it to get even more crowded, but it’s too good not to let you know. Enjoy!More

Attending Campbell University welcome day for medical students we stayed in Apex and my son suggested The Provincial. We ate upstairs in the bar. The ambiance is pretty bare but the food and drinks are superb. I ordered a guava juice cosmo and the smoked...fish and crackers appetizer. They were marvelous. My son and I both ordered the yellowfin fish tacos - delicious! This is a must visit restaurant if you are in the area or even better and more fortunate if you live in the Apex area.More

Highly recommend reservations as the food is wonderful. Tried the smoked fish appetizer with pickled vegetables and everything was very flavorful. Also shared a chicken with a polenta like fontina cheese, which was great.

As always, fantastic drinks. The best fish sandwich around - I lived on the New England coast, and this is just as good. We are never disappointed.

This is casual, low key restaurant in downtown Apex. It has a relaxed vibe, along with excellent food. We ate upstairs (there are two levels, with bars on each) and had excellent food and service. We had Asian chicken wings, fish tacos, hanger steak, with...a light, flavorful carrot cake for dessert. Not a huge menu, but everything was delicious and the service was great. This is the kind of place you hope is in your town, and you come back to. We’ll be back!More

Had been here several times in the past, but pre-pandemic. Our recent meal was just as excellent as we had come to expect. Smoked fish spread and toasted goat cheese salad were generous and delicious. NC Swordfish was perfectly prepared: hot, juicy and wonderfully seasoned....Truffled potatoes were crisp with just a hint of truffle oil, which was great because it can be overwhelming. Short rib was tender and flavorful. We split an apple crisp dessert, which was sweet, crunchy and topped with rich ice cream. So glad The Provincial is still here, and as good as ever!More

Situated on the adorable Salem St in little downtown Apex, The Provincial is relaxed, fine dining with a menu that changes daily. We loved the fish tacos with yellow fin sashimi tuna, the pork chops, hangar steak, carrot cake dessert, and the artichoke dip appetizer....Perfection!More

The last 3 times we have been there has always been one issue or another. When you get apologized to over 4 times an evening something is amiss. Slow beverage service seems to be the most common, 15-20 minutes for a cocktail is too long....They always are out of something even when the item has been on the menu for some time. I understand its a farm to fork place but when you only have 6 entree's and are out of 3 of them at 7:30 that's a problem. It also seems that a reservation is just a suggested time for you table to be ready. the last 3 times it has been 20 minutes, then 30 minutes than the last time 45 minutes wait. The saving grace is the food has always been excellent.More

The menu here changes often, but they always have a variety of choices. The food was well prepared and the service was excellent. We were seated outside but it started to rain so they brought us inside immediately. We will definitely return.

Smallish restaurant with limited seating. If you're lucky enough to be seated, food was very good. Service seemed a bit on the slow side. As per some previous reviews, also were told they were out of some of their selections by an early lunch.

Outstanding new addition to Apex. Our first time there last night and we were extremely pleased with this newer restaurant to our town. The food was outstanding, service was excellent, and the prices are fair given the overall experience. Great drinks from the bar as...well. We will be going there regularly now.More
