This is the WORST restaurant I have ever been to. The service is TERRIBLE. They don’t have enough staff and run around like crazy. They don’t assign a waiter to your table. You just have to scream “bakarmisiniz” in Turkish on top of your lungs...for someone to come to your table (which I am not good at, although I am fluent in Turkish). They didn’t give us a menu. “We do fish and I can have the kitchen to make you a fish”. Then they tried to sell us an overpriced lobster. Eventually, they made fish kavurma for two, but the dish was BELOW AVERAGE. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I would give it ZERO STAR if I could. It is mind boggling how they are still in business. AVOID this place.More

The first time I went to the Gemibasi was in 1978, when it was very small and the only restaurant on the pebbled beach. (no marina, no pier and no paved street) I also have known the owner since that time. I have taken many...Americans to the Gemibasi when going on a Blue Cruse. The food is excellent, the service, can be a little hectic, because it is so busy, but all in all good. The number of times that I have been to this restaurant is about 100, and, of course, I will be going back again and again.More

Dined here 4 times in a 12 days vacation. Amazing price-quality ratio. If you want to eat like Turkish eat, then this is the perfect fish place for you!

I have been going to this restaurant for 40 years. The owner is a personal friend and the food is great. The first time I went to the Gemibasi, it was very small and the only one in the area. There was no marina, hotels,...nor boats. In fact it was, basically, on the beach and the only boats were little fishing boats. I will be taking a group there this summer as I did last summer and will again enjoy the food and atmosphere.More

Gemibaşı is among the few longlasting fish restaurants at the marina area in Bodrum due to the fact that it is liked by locals. After my last visit in January I also believe that Gemibaşı shouldn’t be underestimated considering the cosy atmosphere and quality of...the food as well as some creative meals prepared with local ingredients. The only question mark is the price and is it really worth. I don’t ilke to speculate but my worry is the probability that locals night be paying not as much as the tourists or newcomers to the Bodrum town otherwise why so many locals filling up this restaurant at this price level.More

We choose this restaurant due to it being so busy. The experience felt very rushed I think we were the only non Turkish people there perhaps they just weren’t that interested in us We ordered the starters which we enjoyed we then ordered the John...Dory at suggestion of the waiter he just said will we grill it no other suggestions The mixed salad was lovely but we were very disappointed with the fish A lot of money for not a great experience sorry to say Service rushed no smiles just bang bang bangMore

stumbling across this gem of a restaurant was one of the highlights of our week in bodrum. the grilled octopus was the best we have ever tasted, and every bite of every dish was a dream. Aydan and his team have the place running on...joy and excellence. this is a must visit during any trip to bodrum. peace...Todd KomarnickiMore

We were recommended this restaurant by the concierge at our hotel.. Based in the Marina at Bodrum was filled with locals.. Excellent fresh seafood and prompt service.. The grilled octopus, large mullet steaks were yum.. A couple of specialities were nice too... that’s prawns with...aubergine and cheese plus a dark shredded mushroom.. the mussels unfortunately were disappointing with hardly any meat.. highly recommend this restaurant..More
