IHOP UP Town is still going strong. I went here for breakfast today. This is about my 5th time here, but I've not had the chance to review it. About damn time, huh? It's strategically located at the center despite it being in the original...building of UP Town; I've seen a few whose locations weren't as appealing after traffic got diverted post the two-building expansion. Overall, I had a very good experience with the food, noting that the prices are really good and not unreasonable. But the kitchen service left much to be desired; our food arrived 30 minutes after we ordered. And the place wasn't even half full. So boo on the kitchen service. Plus the dine in staff weren't proactive enough to manage us in that (and my specific request to advance what could be done early like french toast) respect. TIPS: + MUST ORDER: Corn beef hash. Awesome. Garlic rice and eggs of your choice. Under P300. They have other Filipino all day breakfast dishes all under P300. + Unli Coffee for under P100! For coffee junkies. + 30 minutes thereabouts appears to be the norm here (compared to BGC which is 15 to 20) IHOP, at a Glance: > Food & Beverage: 🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2 > Service (Dine-In): 🌟🌟🌟🌟 > Kitchen Service: 🌟🌟🌟 (30 minutes to deliver the food??? 😠) ; good thing the food were good. Though the French toast weren't all well done as I requested. > Ambience: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 (good maintenance despite 2 or 3 years but the poor aircon - 1) > Value for Money: 🌟🌟🌟1/2 OVERALL: 🌟🌟🌟1/2 rounded up to 🌟🌟🌟🌟 ___________ > Worth a try - Yes > Worth a return - Sure, coz I'm liking the vibe of UP Town in the am. And lack of traffic. Lunch, afternoon onwards on a weekend? Katipunan??? Fuggedaboudit! 😁🤣😡 > VERDICT: While Ihop doesn't have a side (pancakes, French toast, hash brown) I am impressed with, I like their Filipino dishes and some of their products like the ones I reviewed in their BGC (sorry I forget that now but it was more Tex Mex and Western). It's comfort / all day breakfast food that's got its own niche here. Back in 2013, I had my worries about its long term viability vs strong-and-steady Pancake House. But I'd say it looks like it's well managed by the CPK guys, positioning it a bit more upscale than Pancake House, I think. This branch does need tweaking in the kitchen, though, but I told the manager that, so I hope they do step that up.More

Sunday is supposed to be family friendly day. I had been here before and I visited again to see if service and food had improved and if so, to what extent. Pancake remained rubbery as if the chef continued to skimp on milk. For a...restaurant that prices itself on pancakes, this staple and fundamental menu item should be the focus of the management attention. Strawberries are in season (from Baguio or Trinidad Valley) and so I was expecting to have fresh slices don't mind paying extra) but instead got the bottled soggy variety. Bananas (on the 2 piece strawberry banana pancakes) was slices thin. There was a modest dollop of cream but the topping was a downer. The restaurant only had a small family when I entered (about 7:15 am) and customers started coming in about 8:45 am. There is a second level without access to wheelchair and a disable would have to navigate the few steps. A customer who apparently had suffered a stroke (his hands and feet were not fully functioning) had a hard and long time going up.. Coffee is good. So was the service. The food came out of the kitchen quite fast But the "prompt of the pudding is in the eating" so to speak so no matter how fast the food came out of the kitchen, food presentation, taste and consistency with reputation matter. On these counts, iHOP failed. I might have to check the iHOP at US airports when I travel May.More

I know this is more of a breakfast place but went there during lunchtime. We ordered mixed appetizer, cheeseburger and also grilled liempo with rice. We've had better onion rings and mozzarella sticks. I would say service was slower than usual probably because it was...kinda full and they might be short staffed that time. Or maybe we were just really hungry. I noted the logistics to their washroom is not well designed, not much room to walk around.More

Hubby and I love all-day breakfast places and have tried all sorts of restaurants from little ones in food streets to the bigger ones in the mall. Let me start this review by disclosing that we may have set our expectations too high, since ihop...is s pretty popular place with already several branches here; and boy, were we disappointed! We ordered the breakfast sampler with 2 pcs each of ham, bacon, egg, hash potatoes and pancakes, and the chicken florentine crepe. Both orders are good to share for people with regular appetite, but are disappointingly ordinary! I know breakfast foods are pretty straightforward wherever you go, but I wish they could have AT LEAST cooked their food perfectly. The sausages were small and burnt, the ham tasted like holiday ham you get from the supermarket, the eggs were burnt under and runny, the (teeny tiny) bacon strips were unevenly cooked, the hash brown and pancakes undercooked. The chicken florentine was tough and dry. All these weren't even pretty enough to be photographed! The service here is pretty horrible too. There was perhaps a full 5 minutes without any server in sight. I had to get up and look for one to ask for a refill. I definitely would NOT go back.More

iHOP is also on our list of must-try places, as the Hubby and I are big breakfast eaters. Little did we know that we are in for another disappointment. The Place We arrived there before 8 am and were seated at one of the booths....Our dining experience included some flies (I kid you not). The restaurant could use some improvements in ensuring that these insects won't mingle with the customers, considering that they have a high-end image. The Food We ordered the Breakfast Sampler to share as we are not that hungry yet. It lacked flavor. The pancakes seemed stale, the bacon came up short on saltiness, the ham was okay. Even the soda was missing the bubbles. The Service The place was packed and yet the service did not pick up its pace. They served our order more than 30 minutes later, and it still wasn't complete. We also had to repeatedly call the attention of the waitstaff to refill our water glasses.More

Php300 buys a very ordinary French toast I can make a better version of, at home. Add another P100 to get a whipped cream and strawberry topping? The local IHOPS make me outraged at the overpriced food. Eat here if you're clueless in the kitchen,...are too lazy or have money to burn.More

I indulged myself to a healthy breakfast of crepe with fresh fruits oats and yogurt. It was fresh and delicious. This is the place for breakfast meals and more, as the menu attests. In the middle of a Monday morning, the place was filled of...customers eating breakfast.More
